Left to tell Analytical essay

Luke 17:3-4 said, So watch yourselves. If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke

them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and

seven times come back to you saying I repent, you must forgive them. Forgiveness is freeing

up and putting to a better the energy you once stored for keeping grudges, nursing unhealed

wounds, and hating the wrongdoers. Forgiveness is a liberating gift we can give ourselves. We

learn from Immaculee that everyone is Gods children, and they deserve the same love we

receive from Him. Forgiveness not only affects us, but the wrong doers, our relationship with

God, and the world around us.

Forgiveness is a very important thing in our lives. Without forgiveness, our growth and

maturity with Christ and others cannot grow. Forgiveness allows us to look past those who hurt

us and spares out the consequences of living out with an unforgiving heart. One thing Immaculee

mentions in her true story Left to tell is that All killers were part of His family deserving his

love and forgiveness (Iibagiza 94). When the soldiers crucified Jesus, he forgave the killers and

knew they did not know what they were doing. This is very similar with Immaculee. It is

important to overlook sin and forgive those who hurt you.

You can describe the opposite of forgiveness as condemn, accuse, or blame. The opposite

of forgiveness can bring evil over someone. Evil drove people to do evil things (Iibagiza 10),
Immacule once said. The Hutus never forgave the Tustis for being in power so because of this,

when the Hutus took over they wanted revenge with the Tutsi people rather than peace and

forgiveness. This caused Hutu extremist and the Rwanda Genocide, which later resulted in

hundreds of thousands of deaths.

Forgiveness is not a feeling but rather a commitment to pardon the fender. By

overlooking the sin and restoring the bond, we are promoting peace in our own lives and across

the globe. Forgiveness brings us with a higher level of well-being. Promoting peace can help

avoid global genocides and disasters, like the Rwanda Genocide. It gets ride of the tension,

which often causes outbreaks, between the forgiver and wrongdoer.

Forgiveness effects the forgiver, the wrongdoer, our relationship with God, and the world

around us. It can strengthen our relationship with God when we learn to love and forgive, which

is widely mentioned in the Bible. Forgiveness is all I have to offer (Iibagiza 204). Sometimes

all we can do it forgive those who hurt us to make a difference.
