Villanueva DITCC111 Advanced IT Project Management

The Three Sphere Model for system management.

The business section requires a knowledgeable person to understand the long term objectives of a system
management and its goals. It also requires the ability to internally control variables within an organization
and maximize the never ending limitation in resources. A system which is not developed to business or
market objectives is ultimately doomed to fail.

The organization section requires the ability to incorporate both the Business and the Technology sphere into
account; it needs to take into consideration about what has to be taken into account in order to incorporate
the respective stakeholder. How will the project affect the stakeholders, how will the project affect those
who are already running something similar to the one being done in the project? What will happen to the
system after it is completed, how the users are going to use it and if it needs training who is going to train the
users, and so on.

As for technology, a project manager needs to know how each and every tool and technology work, thus
requiring the need to know the strengths, benefits, limitations and costs. This also applies to human
resources and the time line. Often technical limitations will reduce the scope of project needs, so it needs to
be incorporated in order to move forward.

Development of a Mobile application for Capiz State University(CapSU) Campus Map Guide.

The developers was tasked to create a mobile application for CapSU that will allow students, visitors
or anyone with access to a smart mobile phone to easily navigate the different campuses, identify each
buildings and offices and also instructions on how to travel from each campuses using public
transportations.

Issues
o Business
o It was done in-house and the developers were the faculty of the computer department
composed of regular and casual employees. Remuneration was not properly explained for both
types of faculty.
o Some faculty also requested the assistance of 4th year BSCS students to code and perform menial
task for the project, in which no defined compensations were discussed and the student has
some issues with the department.
o Organization
o The Campus Administrators were not properly informed of the project and created a negative
impression when the developers visited their campuses.
o Technology
o The developer has problem uploading the application to the Google Play store.

The most important issue in the development of the mobile project was that the proper coordination in
terms of communication to all campuses should be given attention so that no negative sentiments were
expressed by some employees in the organization.
