Terms of Reference Research Assistant

URGENT HIRING:

In need of a research assistant to conduct data gathering, key informant interviews, and
online/paper-based surveys from 29 May to 9 June covering the key stakeholders of
Makati Citys Plastic Reduction Program.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

To identify the attitudes and behaviors of the citys primary stakeholders to the citys
plastic packaging ban

TASKS

1. Coordinate interview schedules and conduct actual key informant interviews of

the following:
-Captains of Makati City barangays with the highest and lowest plastic waste
generation rates
-Managers of Makati-based supermarket chains (Landmark Supermarket and SM
Supermarket)
-Sari-sari store owners in select Makati City barangays
-Head of the Philippine Plastic Industry Association

Guide questions will be provided.

2. Conduct surveys among the following:

-Makati City residents
-Makati City office workers

Survey tool will be provided.

3. Direct observation on the use and disposal of plastic products in the following:
-Fast food outlets
-Public markets

4. Data analysis and write-up

Note: This is an output-based research. The program of work will be discussed. The
researcher is not required to report daily.

COMPENSATION

Additional compensation: reimbursement of transportation costs will be provided.

1. Background on research is preferable
