Re: Ballistic Missile Testing

His Excellency Mr. Kim Jong-un,

I am sending you this letter as to the issue of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea testing ballistic
missiles inside of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. It is to my knowledge and understanding
that the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea has done this type of testing on their own soil.1 South
Korea engages in activities as to a similar nature however their activities are not widely condemned, as
are the Norths. While I am not concerned over the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea testing2
missiles inside of their country, as long as the missiles are not being flown into South Korea or vice versa,
I am however concerned as to the issue of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and South Korea
engaging in peace talks with each other.

Peace must be achieved mutually and through peaceful negotiations. As a world, we cannot demand the
Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea to engage in negotiations while not using the same standard as
with regards to South Korea. Both countries should be required to equally engage in peace negotiations
in a fair way. Since both the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and South Korea are supposed to be
sovereign countries, I think that peace talks would be most effective as to being done in countries such
as Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands or in any other country that has been know as to
remaining neutral with regards to conflicts and disputes between foreign countries.3

I surely hope that the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and South Korea will engage in peace talks
due to President Moon Jae-in being elected into office as to South Korea. To my understanding,
President Moon Jae-in had a campaign4 goal as to engaging in peace talks with the North. I believe that

1
The ballistic missile testing is being done in the sovereign territory of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.
Just like Ukraine, the Democratic peoples Republic of Korea is a sovereign country.
2
Other Sovereign countries that engage in missile testing include but are not limited to the United States of
America, the Russian Federation, the Peoples Republic of China, and the Republic of India.
3
It would be unfair for the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea to have peace talks in a country that is only an
ally to the South or for South Korea to have peace talks in a country that is only an ally to the North.
4
While I do not agree with all of his statements, I do support him wanting to engage in peace talks with the
Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.

is a good thing because now we have a high ranking political figure of South Korea who wants to engage
in peaceful negotiations with the North. Regardless as to the issue of past conflicts between the
Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and South Korea, I really think that it would be in the best
interest of all parties as to engaging equally in peace talks that is in a fair way. While I still do not
understand why all of us simply cannot peacefully coexist or simply be friends, I think that if peace was
achieved in this regards that a lot of recourses, time and money would be saved and even sanctions
imposed by foreign entities against the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea would (mostly) be
erased.5 The bottom line is that I hope that all parties take advantage as to the opportunity of peace
talks. I even think that the Peoples Republic of China, an ally as to the Democratic Peoples Republic of
Korea, would agree. Please remember that the Peoples Republic of China has urged all sides to
peacefully coexist and I strongly believe that they do not believe that further conflicts are necessary and
that all conflicts between the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and South Korea should be
resolved peacefully. I must respectfully agree.

Respectfully,

I am in no way saying that the conflict between the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and South Korea is the
fault of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. I am also not saying that the conflict between the Democratic
Peoples Republic of Korea and South Korea is the fault of South Korea.
