Narrative
Brief narrative statement of facts, conditions and circumstances pertinent to the accident/incident:

On July 15, 2010, at 1330 central daylight time, an amateur built Zenith CH701, N701KC, collided
with the terrain following a loss of control while landing on runway 31 at the Iowa Falls Municipal
Airport (IFA), Iowa Falls, Iowa. The commercial rated pilot was fatally injured and the airplane
was substantially damaged. The personal flight was being operated under Title 14 Code of Federal
Regulations Part 91. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed for
the local flight. The flight originated from IFA approximately 15 minutes prior to the accident.

The accident occurred during the first flight of the airplane.
