Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee invites the applications for the following posts as per details
given below. The candidates are required to apply either through on-line mode or on the prescribed
application form available on the Institute website. The On-line option will remain open from November 04
to November 28, 2016 upto 5.30 p.m. The print out of completed on-line application or the application on
prescribed application form along with all relevant supporting documents duly self attested should be sent to
the Assistant Registrar (Recruitment), Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee-247 667 (Uttarakhand)
on or before December 05, 2016 through Speed/Registered post or in person. The envelope containing
complete application should be super-scribed "Application for the post of -------------------------------".

The minimum educational qualification and experience are noted against each post:
5. Assistant Coach Bachelor' s Degree in Physical Education + Diploma in Coaching from NIS
Patiala.
6. Driver Grade II Senior Secondary (10+2) pass with Driving License of both hea vy and li ghl
duty vehicles with 03 years of dri ving and maintenance experience OR
10+2 pass with ITI course with Driving license for both heavy and light
duty vehicles with 02 years of relevant experience.
1. The candidates should send a non-refundable Demand Draft of Rs.I00/- in favour of Registrar,
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee payable at Roorkee towards the Application Fee.
No fee is required from lIT Roorkee employees, SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities candidates.
2. The relaxation in age are as under:
a) The maximum age limit \,vill be considered on the last date of receipt of application. The
relaxation in age 05 years to SC/ST, 03 years to OBC with additional 10 years age rel axation to
Persons with Disabilities candidates will be given as per Government of India rLlles.
b) The age preferably below 55 years will be admissible for the persons working in ,JJT Roorkee (a) on
contract on fixed monthly emoluments selected through open advertisement & duly constituted
Selection Committee and have requisite educational qualification/experience, (b) persons working
on Compassionate Ground on fixed monthly emoluments, (c) Y-pool Workers.

c) Regular employees of other I1Ts or CFTTs who are educationally qualified can be considered for
recruitment upto a maximum of 50 years of age.
d) The Institute may consider relaxation in upper-age limit in case of excepti onall) qll;liili l'd ~ lll d
experienced candidates.
e) Certificate in support of experience should be given by appropriate authority clearly mentioning the
period of work done and nature of work.
3. Persons with Disabilities affected by visually acuity not exceeding 6/60 vision with correcting lenses in
both eyes or one eye or impairment in visual functioning/Hearing Impairment (Pal1ially Deaf) with
moderate degree of deafness varying between 40% to 75%.
4. Being other things are equal the eligible applicants for the post mentioned at SI.No. 3 to 6 belonging to
the region around Roorkee and Saharanpur wi II be given preference, for which they have to attach an
attested copy of dom iciJ es certi ficates of that area.
5. Preference will be given to ' Persons with Disabilities', even where the reservation is not marked and
suitable PWDs applicants are available.

7. Tncomplete applications/without relevant suppol1ing enclosures/without prescribed fee will be out rightly
rejected. All certificates should be issued on or before the last date of receipt the applications i.e.
October 28, 20 I6.
12. The objective type written examination for the screening/shortlisting will comprise of General
Intelligence, English Language (Basic knowledge), General Awareness, Psychological Questions to test
the attitude to serve, and Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill).
13. The second level examination for the Short-listed candidates will be in the form of Skill Test/Typing
Test on Computer (Hindi/English)/Job-relatcd test, as applicable.

14. The number of posts shown specialization-wise is tentative. The numbers may be varying.
15. The Institute reserves the right to relax any of the advertised conditions in case of deserving candidates .
16. Institute reserves the right to fill up the post, not to fill up the posts or cancel the advertisement in whole
or partly without assigning any reason. The Institute will also reserve the right to place a reasonable limit
on the total number of candidates to be called for lob-oriented test (written test). Fulfillment of essential
qualifications per-se does not entitle a candidate to be called for test/interview. The decision of the
Institute in this regard will be final.
17. In case of any dispute, the decision of Director, I.I.T Roorkee shall be final.
