Address Validation Library

Informatica Data Quality 9.5.1 HotFix 4 and PowerCenter 9.5.1 HotFix 4 use version 5.3.1 of the
AddressDoctor software library.
The AddressDoctor 5.3.1 library validates postal addresses to the following certification standards:
Address Matching Approval System (AMAS) Cycle 2013, Australia.
Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) Cycle N, United States.
National Address Management Service (SNA), France. Certified to street-level data.
SendRight Cycle 2013, New Zealand.

DataDirect SequeLink Connectivity in PowerCenter
DataDirect SequeLink drivers extend access to data sources with limited platform or API access. The
SequeLink 6.0 drivers are installed with Informatica services in the following location:
<InformaticaInstallationDir>\tools\Sequelink

Apply and Rollback the HotFix

When you apply the hotfix, the installer backs up existing directories, installs the new version of the
product, and restores or updates required configuration and run-time files.
Informatica provides separate installers to apply hotfixes to the Informatica services and clients. To
apply the Informatica hotfix, complete the following steps:
1. Complete the pre-installation tasks.
2. Apply the hotfix to the Informatica services in graphical, console, or silent mode.
3. Complete the post-installation tasks for the Informatica services.
4. Apply the hotfix to the Informatica clients in graphical or silent mode. If you are applying the hotfix to
Informatica Developer, verify that the Informatica client hotfix version matches the Informatica
services hotfix version.
Note: If the Informatica client hotfix version does not match the Informatica services hotfix version,
Informatica Developer will not be able to connect to the domain.
When you roll back a hotfix, the installer restores Informatica to the previously installed version. The
installer rolls back the hotfix for the Informatica services and clients at the same time. To apply the
Informatica rollback, complete the following steps:
1. Complete the pre-installation tasks.
2. Apply the rollback in graphical, console or silent mode.
3. Complete the post-installation tasks.
On Windows, you can run the installer in graphical or silent mode. On UNIX, you can run the installer in
graphical, console, or silent mode.

Applying the Informatica Hotfix

If you accidentally perform the rollback instead of applying the hotfix, you must cancel the rollback and
run the installer again to apply the hotfix.
If you accidentally perform the rollback instead of applying the hotfix, the following message appears
when you click Install at the Pre-Installation Summary page:
<InformaticaInstallationDir>\<server or clients> File/Folder is in use or does not
exist.
Please close all the processes/applications accessing this folder.
If you click Previous to return to the installer Welcome page, select Apply the hotfix, and complete the
hotfix installation, the installer does not copy the folder and file structure in full, which results in an
incomplete hotfix installation.

6 IN_RLN_95100_HF4_0001
To work around the issue, exit the installer and start the hotfix installation again.
1. Click OK to close the error message.
2. Click Cancel to quit the installation.
3. Run the install.bat or install.sh command again to perform the hotfix installation.

Pre-Installation Tasks
Complete the pre-installation tasks before you apply or roll back a hotfix.
1. Stop all processes that access the installation directory and subdirectories, including command
prompts and command line programs.
2. Close the Informatica clients on all machines where you want to apply or roll back the hotfix.
3. Close the Informatica directory and the subdirectories.
4. Stop the Informatica services on all nodes in the domain. For more information about stopping
Informatica services, see the Installation and Configuration Guide.
5. If you are applying a hotfix and the machine uses HTTPS to connect to Informatica Administrator,
verify that the keystore file is in the default location and that it uses the default file name. The default
location for the keystore file is <InformaticaInstallationDir>/tomcat/conf. The default file name
for the keystore file is Default.keystore.
6. If you are applying a hotfix, back up the repository and warehouse files. These backup files are
required if you roll back the hotfix.
For PowerCenter, PowerExchange adapters, and Data Transformation, back up the PowerCenter
repository, Data Analyzer repository, Data Profiling warehouse, and Metadata Manager
warehouse. For Data Transformation, also back up the ServiceDB repository.
For Data Explorer, Data Quality, and Data Services, back up the Model repository and profiling
warehouse.
7. If you are applying a hotfix and you have a Metadata Manager Service, back up the Metadata
Manager imm.properties file.
8. If you are applying a hotfix and you have a Reporting and Dashboards Service, export the Jaspersoft
repository resources. Verify that the default_master.properties file contains valid data.
9. Download the hotfix installation package for your platform.
10. Unzip or untar the contents of the hotfix installation package.
Note: On Windows, the length of the entire installation directory path, including the zip file name,
must be 60 characters or less. On UNIX, use native tar or GNU tar to extract the installer files. The
user that runs the installer must have read and write permissions on the installer files directory and

Post-Installation Tasks
Complete the post-installation tasks after you apply a hotfix:
If you are applying a hotfix and the machine uses HTTPS to connect to Informatica Administrator,
verify that the Default.keystore file is in the following default location for the keystore file:
<InformaticaInstallationDir>/tomcat/conf. If the Default.keystore file is not in the default
location, stop the Informatica services, copy the file from the backup location to the default location,
and then restart the Informatica services.
Reconfigure pmimpprocess in the following directory: <InformaticaInstallationDir>\server\bin.

If you are applying the hotfix to Informatica Developer or Data Transformation Studio, log off the
Windows machine and then log back on to complete the system configurations.
If you have a Reporting and Dashboards Service, upgrade the Jaspersoft repository contents.
If you are upgrading PowerCenter, you must register the plug-in for PowerExchange for Hadoop
again. Use the Administrator tool or the pmrep RegisterPlugin command to register the plugin.
If you use Metadata Manager and you created a business glossary resource with a load template
XConnect, update the load template for the business glossary model. Add the idDelimiter="~"
attribute to the loadTemplate element, and then reload each business glossary resource that is based
on the model.
If you use Metadata Manager, uninstall and reinstall the Metadata Manager Agent after you configure
the Metadata Manager Service.
If you reload a profile model after you upgrade from version 9.5.0, the foreign key inference option for
enterprise discovery Use top ranked keys is incorrectly set to -5 instead of 1. You must change the
Use top ranked keys value to 1 and perform enterprise discovery. (CR 324819)
If you are upgrading PowerExchange for SAP NetWeaver, you must create new IDoc and BAPI
mappings with custom transformations. Effective in version 8.5, the SAP BAPI mappings created in
versions earlier than 8.5 are deprecated. Effective in version 7.1, the SAP IDoc mappings created in
versions earlier than 7.1 are deprecated. Informatica will drop support for these deprecated IDoc and
BAPI mappings in version 9.6. (CR 337909)

Uninstalling Informatica Services or Clients on Windows

If you install the Informatica services and Informatica clients on the same machine, uninstalling
Informatica removes the ODBC directory. This issue affect installation on Windows.
When you install the Informatica services, the installer creates an ODBC entry that points to the
<InformaticaInstallationDir>\ODBC7.0 directory. If you install the Informatica clients on the same
machine, the installer updates the ODBC entry to point to the <InformaticaInstallationDir>\clients\tools
\ODBC7.0 directory. If you uninstall the Informatica clients, the uninstaller deletes the
<InformaticaInstallationDir>\clients\tools\ODBC7.0 directory, to which the ODBC entry still points.
Similarly, when you install the Informatica clients, the installer creates an ODBC entry that points to the
<InformaticaInstallationDir>\clients\tools\ODBC7.0 directory. If you install the Informatica services on the
same machine, the installer updates the ODBC entry to point to the <InformaticaInstallationDir>

IN_RLN_95100_HF4_0001 11
\ODBC7.0 directory. If you uninstall the Informatica services, the uninstaller deletes the
<InformaticaInstallationDir>\ODBC7.0 directory, to which the ODBC entry still points.
After you uninstall the Informatica services or clients, restore the ODBC7.0 folder to the original location.
1. Before you uninstall the Informatica services or clients, copy the ODBC7.0 directory to a temporary
directory on your local drive. For example, if you are uninstalling the Informatica services, copy the
<InformaticaInstallationDir>\ODBC7.0 directory and its contents to C:\temp.
2. Perform the uninstallation.
3. After you uninstall the Informatica services or clients, re-create the ODBC7.0 directory path.
4. Copy the ODBC7.0 temporary directory to the ODBC7.0 directory. For example, if you uninstalled
the Informatica services, copy the ODBC7.0 folder and its contents to <InformaticaInstallationDir>.

after the first row can be higher than expected depending on the Hive queries generated and
optimizations applied when you run the mapping.
You can use one of the following workarounds:
- The rank index port must connect to ports of the same type in the mapping. You can use the rank index value as an
argument to functions that Hive supports.
- Configure a Filter transformation after the Rank transformation such that the Filter transformation cannot be processed
before the Rank transformation during optimization. For example, configure a filter condition where RANKINDEX >= 0.

329149 When you run an SQL query against a deployed SQL data service, a null pointer exception occurs if
the SQL query includes a WHERE clause that is pushed to a source that has an SQL override.

IN_RLN_95100_HF4_0001 51
CR Description

328596 When you select the Filter Exact Match option in a Match transformation, the run time of the
mapping that uses the transformation increases significantly. The issue is observed when you
configure the transformation to perform dual-source field match analysis.

327356 The Developer tool does not display a meaningful error message if you attempt to update a
reference table when the Content Management Service is unavailable.

327231 When you configure a Match transformation for identity analysis and you select the Match All
option, the transformation copies the driver score to the link score by default.

327193 When you create a Sequence ID port in a Match transformation and you edit the port name, the
Developer tool displays an error.

327106 When you clear the cache size field in a nonreusable Match transformation, the Developer tool
displays an error. If you increase the cache size and add another nonreusable Match transformation
to the mapping, the newer transformation inherits the cache size from the first transformation.

326108 If you run a mapping with a Match transformation that you configured for identity analysis, the
mapping runs more slowly if you selected the Filter Exact Match option in the Match transformation.

325788 When you preview data for physical data objects that use the ISO_8859-9 (Turkish) code page in
an ODBC connection to Sybase, the tool displays incorrect characters if the Optimizer Level is set
to any value other than None.

325647 When you run data domain discovery on a data source with a data domain that has a rule with a
non-String input port type, data domain inference fails for source column datatypes that do not
match the input port type of the rule.

325627 The Exception transformation cannot use the Oracle thin driver to create database tables.

325486 When you run a mapping in a Hive environment that uses the SYSDATE variable, the output can be
empty with no rows in the target.

325435 When the Data Integration Service writes a log message for an address validation mapping, the
message omits the version number of the Address Doctor engine.

325026 An Exception transformation cannot write data to a Microsoft SQL Server database if the JDBC
connection string for the database includes the name instance for the database and the TCP/IP port
number.

324891 If you select a data source that is not valid in the new reference table wizard, you must exit the
wizard. The issue occurs if you select a data source with column names that include unsupported
characters. The Developer tool displays an error message that identifies the file.

324572 When you run a mapping that has multiple Oracle targets, the mapping fails with a DTMException
error if one target has a foreign key relationship to another relational table that is not a target.

324527 If you run a profile on a mapping object or mapplet object or add a rule to the profile, the Developer
tool generates a run-time error for a rule that has a data quality transformation with parameterized
reference tables.

324516 You can validate either parent-to-child or child-to-parent relationship in the foreign key results
between two primary keys but not both.

52 IN_RLN_95100_HF4_0001
CR Description

324156 The import fails for PowerCenter mappings that contain a source or target with a port of Char
datatype and a precision of 255 for the following relational objects:
- IBM DB2zOS source and target
- IBM DB2i5OS source and target

324095 When you discover foreign keys of objects that have user-defined keys without selecting a primary
key, the Developer tool generates an error.

322734 If you rename a content set and then undo the operation, the Developer tool generates a null
pointer exception.

321888 When you create a probabilistic model, the Developer tool displays an error if you clear the sample
row value before you select the All Rows option.

320811 When you export entity results after you run enterprise discovery on more than a thousand
relational data sources with a large number of data object relationships, you may get a Java Heap
memory error.

320583 The Developer tool does not display a meaningful error message when you attempt to create a
classifier model or a probabilistic model and you do not have write permission on the model file
directory.

320280 When you export mappings that include Data Quality transformations to PowerCenter mapplets, the
PowerCenter mapplets include additional Expression transformations before and after each Data
Quality transformation.

319860 The Developer tool might encounter a null pointer exception if you select and drag multiple output
ports from an Address Validator transformation to another transformation in a mapping.

319471 If you add an output port to an Address Validator transformation after you run the Data Viewer on
the transformation, the port data appears in the wrong column when you next run the Data Viewer.

319024 An Address Validator transformation updates the house number data in a valid address when the
house number begins with a zero.

318971 If you create a reference table from a Sybase IQ ODBC database in the Developer tool, some or all
data cannot be written to the reference table. The issue arises because the Sybase database
permits larger precision values than the reference table database for some datatypes.

316501 If the Service Manager is under a heavy load, it might not renew user authentication tokens before
the expiration time. As a result, you might encounter a user session expired error when you connect
to the Model Repository Service from the Developer tool or when you deploy an application to the
Data Integration Service using the Developer tool or Administrator tool.

300988 If data domain discovery on a flat file source fails, the Developer tool displays results from the last
successful run.

279651 If you run a profile on an Oracle data source that has a number without precision and scale, the
profile results display the number in the scientific format.

335750 The value for the workflow tracing level property is case sensitive. If you assign the property to a
parameter and the parameter value is not in all capital letters, the workflow instance fails to run.
Workaround: Use one of the following case sensitive values to define the value of the workflow
tracing level property in a workflow parameter: ERROR, WARNING, INFO, TRACE, or DEBUG.

335380 After you upgrade from version 9.1.0 HotFix 5, none of the source columns in the column profile
and profile model definitions is selected as part of the inference options for data domain
discovery.
Workaround: Select the columns manually and run data domain discovery.

330976 When you run enterprise discovery on a profile model with more than 100 relational tables and 50
entities, the foreign key results for the user-defined foreign key tasks and system-generated
foreign key task overlap in the graphical view.

330808 You cannot abort a mapping within a Java transformation when you run mappings in a Hive
environment on an Apache cluster.

324509 After you upgrade from version 9.5.0, column profile and data domain discovery results do not
display the precision of documented datatypes for source columns and data domains.
Workaround: Make changes to either the sampling or drill-down options in the profile definition
and run the profile again.

than the default installation directory, Data Transformation does not run.

CM-5860 You can enter any valid QName while specifying a fault code to generate a fault in a web service.
A Web Service Consumer transformation returns a value with the alias used in the SOAP
response.

Informatica Data Transformation Known Limitations

The following table describes known limitations:

CR Description

311610 You cannot connect more than one Data Transformation Streamer to a Complex file reader when
you push a mapping to Hadoop.

303300 When you install Data Transformation with Informatica Services, some Data Transformation startup
components appear in the Windows Program Menu. If you click a Data Transformation component
from the menu, an error appears that CMConfig.xml is not valid.
Workaround: Run Data Transformation components from the <Installation_Directory>\bin directory.

288495 When an Option statement fails in an XMap, the details about the failure appear under the Router
node in the Events navigation tree instead of under the RouterOption node.

IN_RLN_95100_HF4_0001 73
CR Description

CM-5805 The Data Transformation Engine does not accept schemas that contain XSD pattern retrictions
based on Unicode general categories such as p{L], p{N}.
Workaround: Modify the .XSD file that contains the unsupported pattern restriction, or update the
RegexReplacements.tgp file in the following folder: <Installation_Directory>\DT
\autoinclude\system

CM-5722 The XMLStreamer component does not process the trailer part of an input message.
Workaround: Use another component to process the trailer.

CM-5549 The WordToDataXml document processor does not process text that appears after an endnote.

CM-5515 When you import a project with a schema that contains both an <xsd:include> and an
<xsd:redefine> element, the project cannot be exported and the following error appears:
Invalid XSD error: '<file_name>' has already been included or
redefined
Workaround: Remove the <xsd:redefine> element from the schema.

Informatica Data Quality Closed Enhancements

The following table describes closed enhancement requests:

CR Description

307316 A non-valid identity population file in the specified population directory does not prevent the
Content Management Service from reading valid population files. If the service encounters a file
that is not valid, the service writes an error message to the Content Management Service logs.

280553 When you delete a probabilistic or classifier model from a content set, the operation also deletes
the model file from the installation directory.

Informatica Data Quality Fixed Limitations

Review the Release Notes of previous releases for information about previous fixed limitations.
The following table describes fixed limitations:

CR Description

312686 The usa_states reference data file in the United States and Canada accelerator pack does not
contain complete state names.

310869 You cannot run a mapping that contains a reusable Address Validation, Association, or
Consolidation transformation in PowerCenter if the transformation uses parameters.

310319 Identity match analysis in Informatica Data Quality and Informatica Identity Resolution
applications can generate different match scores given the same input and population data.

74 IN_RLN_95100_HF4_0001
CR Description

306779 If you run a mapping in PowerCenter that searches for duplicate identities, PowerCenter does not
assign duplicate records to the same cluster. PowerCenter creates a cluster for each record in the
input data.

306759 A Human task fails to run on SUSE Linux 11 64-bit systems and Red Hat 6.1 32-bit systems.

306410 You cannot create a reference table with the same name as a deleted reference table. The table
name remains in the registry table after you delete the object from the Model repository and
delete the table from the reference database.

305824 The process to export an address validation mapping to PowerCenter generates errors in the
following scenario:
- The Address Validator transformation specifies more than one execution instance.
- The Address Validator transformation uses one or more ports from the U.S. Specific group, and any port name
exceeds 80 characters in length.

305612 When you correct exceptions in Informatica Data Director for Data Quality, the Replace All option
does not replace all specified values in the task data.

305393 A mapping that includes a Match transformation fails in PowerCenter on a zLinux SUSE system.

304361 If you attempt to rename a reference table that contains integer or bigint datatypes, the rename
operation fails.

288683 An error occurs when the length of the reference table column name is longer than the limits set
by the database.
Workaround: Reduce the length of the column name when you create the reference table.

287992 The Data Integration Services can consume excessive memory and stop unexpectedly when you
run multiple consecutive address validation mappings.
Workaround: Review the preload settings on the Content Management Service and verify that the
settings do not require more memory than the system can provide. Restart the Content
Management Service and the Data Integration Service if you edit the settings.

Informatica Data Quality Known Limitations

The following table describes known limitations:

CR Description

324161 When a workflow assigns a very large number of tasks to a user, such as 10,000 tasks,
Informatica Data Director for Data Quality takes a long time to display the list of tasks.

323383 A mapping that performs identity match analysis may fail to run on grid if you configure the grid
Data Integration Service after the master Content Management Service on the domain.

320388 When you add a date value to a reference table column of datatype date, the column is updated
with time values in addition to date values.

IN_RLN_95100_HF4_0001 75
CR Description

319554 When you run a mapping with a Classifier transformation out of process, the mapping may fail
due to excessive demands on memory. The memory required depends on the number and size of
the classifier models you add to the Classifier transformation.
Work around: increase the Java memory allocation on the Data Integration Service. Create a
JVMOption custom property on the service and set the memory on the property, for example
JVMOption1 = -Xmx640M.

265573 If you run a session with a mapping that uses an Exception transformation to write duplicate
record data to an Oracle database, you experience problems when you consolidate or extract
records in a duplicate record cluster. The Analyst tool identifies every record in the cluster as a
master record.

Informatica Developer Closed Enhancements

The following table describes closed enhancement requests:

CR Description

313701 The Developer tool client installer file includes a silent installer for the JDBC/ODBC driver.

304725 You can use the Developer tool edit the precision of a reference table column that stores row-
level descriptions.

271309 The Developer tool takes less time to connect to a remote Model Repository Service running on a
Wide Area Network (WAN).

270578 The Developer tool displays the current run-time status of a profile in the Results view if you open
the profile in another client machine.

264235 Within a logical data object model, you can copy a source created from a logical data object from
one logical data object read mapping to another read mapping without copying the entire model.

236108 The Decision transformation handles the ISNULL function in the same manner as the Expression
transformation.

Informatica Developer Fixed Limitations

Review the Release Notes of previous releases for information about previous fixed limitations.
The following table describes fixed limitations:

CR Description

321878 When you use a Japanese population file in identity match analysis on two data sources, the
analysis adds space characters to the shorter record in a manner that causes the match score to
increase.

319365 When you a run a profile on a mapping or mapping object that has a Match or Router
transformation with multiple output groups, the Developer tool generates an error.

76 IN_RLN_95100_HF4_0001
CR Description

318737 The Data Integration Service logs FINE and DEBUG messages to the mapping log when the tracing
level is set to Normal.

314159 When you run a mapping with a Consolidation transformation in a Japanese locale, the
transformation creates a redundant output port and causes the Data Integration Service to stop
abruptly.

313014 The Developer tool imports the SAP HANA smalldecimal datatype as the varchar datatype.

313012 The Developer tool imports the SAP HANA date, time, seconddate, and timestamp datatypes as the
varchar datatype.

312995 The Developer tool imports the SAP HANA text datatype as the ntext datatype.

312993 The Developer tool imports the SAP HANA smalldecimal datatype as the varchar datatype.

312787 After you restore the profiling warehouse, a SELECT statement on the
IDPV_BOTTOM_10_FREQUENCIES profile view does not respond for a long period of time.

311628 A web service cannot apply a keep alive interval if the service contains a mapping that uses a
Decision transformation.

311384 When you create a logical data object from an existing schema file and export it to PowerCenter,
the export fails. The export process defines the output ports of the object as Null.

310869 You cannot run a mapping that contains a reusable Address Validation, Association, or
Consolidation transformation in PowerCenter if the transformation uses parameters.

310392 If the search results in the Developer tool return more than 2048 objects, search fails with the
following error: MRSI_40042 "maxClauseCount is set to 2048".

308113 You can configure an Association transformation so that an input and output port define different
datatypes for a single column of data.

306976 A Mapping task in a workflow fails if the mapping includes a reusable transformation.

306762 The Developer tool requires that users have write access to the installation directory because the
tool creates a target/ics-workspace directory within the installation directory.

306429 You cannot create a WSDL data object using SOAP 1.2 WSDL when the SOAP binding element is
not the first element under the WSDL binding element.

306339 You cannot preview data on a Java transformation after you preview data on a Parser
transformation in the same mapping if you configured the Parser transformation for probabilistic
analysis.

306205 The Data Integration Service hangs when it tries to refresh cache for logical data objects that
contain a primary key with no attribute defined.

305443 When you manually map nodes to ports in a Web Service Consumer transformation, the Developer
tool uses the default precision port value instead of the value defined in the WSDL.

305409 When you copy an object to a logical data object mapping that contains a circular reference due to
primary and foreign keys of the logical data objects, the copy process fails with a Java Heap
memory error.

IN_RLN_95100_HF4_0001 77
CR Description

305391 When an operation mapping contains a large number of ports, the Developer tool shuts down
unexpectedly when you view or configure objects in the mapping.

305363 When you configure a strategy in a Consolidation transformation and save and close the
transformation, the strategy option is cleared.

305296 The Developer tool does not display a warning message when you add or edit a label in a
probabilistic model file.

304740 When you create a reference table from a relational data source and add a column for row
descriptions, the column precision changes when you open the table in the Analyst tool or export
the table from the Model repository.

304571 The Developer tool generates an error when you run a join profile if the following conditions are
true:
1. Create a join profile on multiple data objects in the profile model.
2. Specify a self join condition on columns in one of the data objects.
3. Save and run the profile.
4. Add another join condition across multiple data objects.
5. Save and run the profile.

304361 If you attempt to rename a reference table that contains integer or bigint datatypes immediately
after you create or edit the table, the rename operation fails.

304206 A Mapping task runs successfully when the user who started the workflow instance does not have
execute permission on the connection used by the mapping.

304122 You can enter any valid QName while specifying a fault code to generate a fault in a web service. A

Informatica Developer Known Limitations

The following table describes known limitations:

CR Description

325243 You cannot specify a reference data file for import when you import an Informatica application
archive file.

324752 The Labeler transformation does not recognize decimal datatypes in a reference table. The
transformation treats decimal datatype values as strings.

324743 The Developer tool and Analyst tool cannot correctly display a reference table that you create
from a data source of float datatype values. The reference table columns appear with truncated
scale values.

CR Description

324434 The Developer tool might encounter a null pointer exception when you attempt to delete a folder
that contains objects that are currently being moved by other users.

324240 The Developer tool fails to run the profile if the following conditions are true:
- You run foreign key discovery on a Twitter streaming connection.
- You run primary key and foreign key discovery on a Kapow connection.
- You run foreign key discovery on a DataSift streaming connection.

324105 When you run profile jobs or scorecards and disable the Data Integration Service with the Abort
option, the Analyst tool incorrectly displays the status of profile jobs as canceled instead of
aborted.

323971 infacmd ps createWH and dropWH commands on a client machine do not run successfully on a
trusted connection from the profiling warehouse.
Workaround: Use the Administrator tool or server to create or drop the profiling warehouse
database content.

323525 When you import a mapping and a mapplet with the same name from PowerCenter, the import
process fails to resolve the conflict with the identical names.

322890 The Connection Explorer does not show the default schema for a Microsoft SQL Server
connection that uses a trusted connection.

320832 You cannot import a table containing the \ character in the table name using the DataDirect SQL
Server ODBC drivers.

319958 If you search a reference table for a data value and you edit a reference table cell during the
search operation, the operation restarts from the first row of the reference table.

319026 An Address Validator transformation that you configured in fast completion mode does not
correctly validate an address when the house number begins with a zero.

317180 A mapping fails to run with an exception error in a Hive environment when the Hive mapping
connection and the Hive source or target connection connect to different Hive metastores.
Workaround: When you run a mapping in a Hive environment, the Hive connection selected for
the Hive source or target, and the mapping must access the same Hive metastore.

314772 If you use port names that include punctuation or control characters in an expression, you might
encounter the following error when you run a mapping, preview data, or preview web service
messages:
"Problem communicating with DIS service."
Workaround: Modify the port names so that they do not include punctuation or control characters.

312563 If you compile a classifier model and the compilation process consumes the available memory,
the Developer tool does not display an error. The memory is set on the Content Management
Service, and the service writes an out of memory error to the log.

303208 If you install the Developer tool but not the PowerCenter Client, the installation process does not
create the substitution storage scripts that you need to create the substitution storage table in the

294942 If you run both overlap profile and foreign key profile on a data source with all column datatypes
that are not supported, the Developer tool generates an error.

292100 An Assignment task cannot assign the minimum integer value (-2147483648) to an integer
workflow variable.

291969 A web service mapping fails with an XPath error when you create a Web Service transformation
and a group name or a field name contains characters that are not valid in an NCName element
type. An NCName type is a name that is not qualified by a namespace.
Workaround: Remove characters from the group and field names that are not valid in an NCName
type.

291759 When you run a profile model with a few data sources, the Data Integration Service log file does
not correctly display the date and time format and run-time status of the profile model.

286556 If you run a profile on a data source that has datetime columns, the format of date and time values
in exported drill-down results does not match the format of column profile drill-down results for
datetime columns.

284846 The Char or Varchar precision of a column is four times the actual precision when the following
conditions are true:
- You use Char semantics to define the column size of a column of the Char or Varchar2 datatype.
- The NLS_CHARACTERSET is set to AL32UTF8.
- The schema name contains no special characters.

282600 When you create a probabilistic model from a data source, the probabilistic model adds space and
tab delimiters to the set of delimiters you select. This issue is observed when you clear the space
and tab delimiter options.

276266 When you delete a project that other users are working in, the Developer tool does not display a
warning message to alert you that other users are working in the project.

272653 When you use an ODBC connection to connect to an Excel file, preview fails with the following
error message:

Workaround: Create a relational data object for the Excel file, and then preview the relational data
object.

272479 When you include single-level and nested functions in the same Aggregator transformation, the
Developer tool does not mark the mapping or mapplet as not valid. When you run the mapping,
the Data Integration Service fails the mapping with a validation error.

272096 The Family strategy for identity matching in the Match transformation does not identify the
Address Part 1 and Telephone Number secondary inputs as required secondary inputs.

CR Description

271633 When you map a Web Service Consumer Transformation input port as XML, the Developer tool
does not map a location for the Key_Request node. The mapping fails with the following message
in the run-time log:
[[ERROR] XML generator component [Cookie0_R2H_Input] message code:
[66046], message body: No fields are mapped for location [/
infasoapns:Envelope] in group [RequestInput]. Map the ports from
the input group to the nodes in the hierarchy group.].]
Workaround: Complete the following steps:
1. Delete the link between the Web Service Consumer Transformation input port and the Request node in the operation
input.
2. Map an input port to the Key_Request node.
3. Right-click an input port and choose the option to map as XML.

270493 Cannot connect to a web service if you specify localhost in the endpoint URL used by a Web
Service Consumer transformation.
Workaround: Specify the host name or the IP address instead of localhost in the endpoint URL.

270098 If you configure a mapping with an Oracle data source and a Match transformation set to run in
identity matching mode, and you change the data type on a source column that you connect to the
Match transformation, you cannot preview the data on the transformation.

269721 If you change a column datatype from String to Integer in a flat file data source and run a profile
on the data source after you run the profile in Informatica Analyst, you may get a run-time error
about an incorrect value for the Aggregate function.

258847 Mapping hangs on Solaris and the Data Integration Service shuts down unexpectedly if you
enable Truncate Target Table for a Teradata target.

258708 The primary key and functional dependency inference results on columns with null values may
vary depending on whether you just run the profile or validate the profile results. This variance
occurs because inference is based on the summary of null values whereas validation displays all
the records.

258707 If you apply an active filter to a profile after you run the profile without any filters, the drilldown
results may not be accurate.
Workaround: After you set the active filter, run the profile again before you drill down on a column.

257609 Mappings that contain a logical data object cannot be exported to PowerCenter if the logical data
object uses a physical data object as a source and the logical data object also contains a
customized data object that is created from the physical data object.

256315 Mapping with a Web Service Consumer transformation returns an incorrect error message when it
processes data of a date/time datatype with min/max facets.

255827 When you preview a relational data object, the session load summary in the log file does not list
the rows rejected while reading data from the database as rejected rows.

255089 When the Data Integration Service filters or performs a lookup on char datatypes, the Data
Integration Service uses varchar semantics and therefore it does not ignore trailing spaces for the
following types of mappings:
- A mapping with a relational Lookup transformation
- A mapping that is not optimized and includes a logical data object Lookup transformation
- A mapping that is optimized and includes a logical data object Lookup transformation that contains a relational read
mapping without a pipeline
- A mapping with filter transformation logic that cannot be pushed down to the source

CR Description

254167 A Data Integration Service proxy server that uses HTTP 1.0 returns an error if the HTTP server
and client use HTTP 1.1 and the SOAP request size is greater than 1024 bytes.
Workaround: Use HTTP 1.1 for the proxy server.

254009 For a functional dependency inference with a set confidence threshold, a non-primary key column
cannot determine a primary key column.

249655 The logical data object Lookup transformation does not return a match for a NULL input value
when the lookup source contains a NULL value.

235924 The Developer tool can specify a reference table as a parameter. It reads the parameter setting
from a different tab depending on whether you run the mapping or run a profile on the mapping.
When you run the mapping, the Developer tool looks for the parameter on the Parameters tab.
When you profile output from a mapping object, the Developer tool looks for the parameter on the
Configuration tab.

234898 If you enter a custom SQL query that contains a DDL statement in a customized data object, the
Developer tool might execute the query against the database when you validate the query.

234419 Because the Developer tool does not retain key field information for nonrelational data sources,
you cannot include an Update Strategy transformation in a Developer tool mapping for a
nonrelational data source.

224728 You cannot run a mapping that uses two Match transformations in parallel when both
transformations are set to identity match mode.
Workaround: Configure the mapping to run the Match transformations serially.

224341 If you run a mapping that writes data to a Microsoft SQL Server resource using the ODBC driver
for Microsoft SQL Server, the Data Integration Service rejects all records that contain data of type
hierarchyid.
Workaround: Use the native Microsoft SQL Server driver instead of the ODBC driver.

222982 Bulk loading fails when you run a mapping that loads long varchar for bit data to an IBM DB2
database and the database server version is 9.1, the database client version is 9.5, and the Data
Integration Service runs on 64-bit SUSE Linux.

215419 Mapping generates a core file on Solaris 64-bit if you enable Truncate Target Table for an IBM
DB2 9.5.x target and you set the number of rows you want to preview to 0.

Metadata Manager Known Limitations

The following table describes known limitations:

CR Description

338848 When you configure a template with the Custom Metadata Configurator, and then generate the
PowerCenter workflow, workflow generation fails. Metadata Manager returns an error that says it
cannot find infacmd.bat.
Workaround: Create the following directory and extract infacmd from the Informatica utilities into
the directory:
<PC client installation directory>\clients\DeveloperClient\infacmd

325617 You might not be able to load an Informatica Platform resource that contains multiple Expression
transformations with the same expression text.
Workaround: Set the following property in imm.properties and then restart the Metadata Manager
Service:
xconnect.io.ime.validation.skip=true

325075 When you reload an OBIEE resource when the source is unchanged, the Load Details Objects
view displays the values for the preload object count, objects added, objects deleted, objects
updated, and total objects as the same number for some object types.

324164 Metadata Manager does not display the impact summary for instances of mapplet shortcuts.

323619 When you run Metadata Manager on Firefox, and you create a custom resource, Metadata
Manager sometimes does not allow you to select the last mapping rule in the Mapping Rules list.

322982 Business terms related to Power Center reusable objects appear multiple times in the data
lineage diagram.
Workaround: Refresh the data lineage diagram.

86 IN_RLN_95100_HF4_0001
CR Description

322816 When you export a custom resource that contains enumerated links with expressions, purge the
resource, and then reimport the resource, the imported resource does not contain the expressions
in the lineage diagram.

322383 When you view properties for objects in Informatica Platform resources, Metadata Manager does
not display the date the object was created in the source system or the date the object was last
updated in the source system.

322098 The metadata catalog and data lineage diagrams do not display group-level information for
transformations in Informatica Platform resources that have multiple groups.

321192 Data lineage diagrams for Informatica Platform resources do not display related instances lineage
for reusable transformations.

319226 Metadata Manager does not always display the "from object" and "to object" names in
relationships for ERwin resources, so the Browse navigator might display multiple relationships
with the same name. When you select a view relationship in the Related Catalog Objects area,
Metadata Manager might display the wrong relationship.

316072 When you import a very large custom resource that you previously exported, Metadata Manager
might hang if the load on the Metadata Manager warehouse is very high.

314084 When you load a Teradata resource, the Sessions tab of the load log might display a few write
errors in PowerCenter session S_M_FEATURE_MAP_FIRST_LOAD. The errors do not cause
metadata loss.

322588 Searching for a business glossary does not work if you modify the index location in bg.properties
and restart Metadata Manager.
Workaround: Log in as an administrator to the Metadata Manager Business Glossary and index
the business glossary again.

322781 The Business Glossary Desktop installer does not display the LDAP security domain and displays
an error for LDAP users who select the Native security domain.
Workaround: Ignore the error and continue with the installation. After you install the Business
Glossary Desktop, configure the LDAP security domain in the server settings.

304978 When you reload an SAP R/3 resource after you upgrade from 9.1.0 HotFIx 3 to 9.5.0, all SAP
application components and packages are deleted and reloaded. Any customization to the
resource is lost.

304602 Parameter files are not parsed correctly for a PowerCenter resource with nested worklets if you
specify the session parameter value in the workflow and in multiple nested worklets, and the
session scope in the parameter file.

303897 Metadata Manager Service takes a long time to shut down and causes memory leaks.

303420 When you simultaneously create the link between two resources that have a connection
assignment with each other, the status of both the resources appears as Linking Successful; Some
Linking Deferred.
Workaround: Create the links for the resources again.

301722 When you load a Microsoft Analysis and Reporting Services resource, unique constraint errors
occur.

298429 When you load multiple resources simultaneously, object path building sometimes fails because
of unique constraints.
Workaround: Reduce the number of parallel loads or reload the individual resources for which
object path building failed.

296033 For a Business Objects resource, the Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence, and Crystal report
classes appear in the same level as the ObjectPackage class in the catalog tree. In addition, if the
objects have the same name, Metadata Manager appends a numerical suffix to the name.

295349 An error occurs when you import metadata from a custom model XML file in which the XML
elements are not in the proper import order.
Workaround: Generate the XML to ensure that the parent elements are imported before the child
elements.

288675 For an ERwin resource, Metadata Manager Agents extracts all view relationships with the
ViewRelationship class name instead of using the class name specified in the source system.

285476 For a Business Objects resource, Metadata Manager does not merge the Business Objects folder
and class objects in the catalog tree.

282509 For an Oracle Business Intelligence resource, expression values extracted by the Metadata
Manager Agent are not similar to the expression values in the source system.

273665 The backupconfiguration command does not back up the schedules associated with resources
and does not back up the refresh option specified for relational resources.

263633 Errors occur when you simultaneously perform multiple activities on SAP R/3 resources using
single or multiple user sessions.

259473 The impact summary of an IBM DB2 alias does not show the impacted objects of the base object.

259952 The lineage between a PowerCenter source and a Netezza table is missing when the connection
used by the source is a Netezza bulk reader connection.

258486 On Windows 32-bit and 64-bit platforms, you cannot create SAP R/3 resources when you use
SAP JCo 3.0.6 libraries.

Workaround: Verify that the PowerCenter repository has no content and enable the Metadata
Manager Service.

237928 If you upgrade from version 8.6.1, data lineage displays links between source relational tables
and PowerCenter source definitions and Source Qualifier transformations. Data lineage should
display links between source relational tables and PowerCenter Source Qualifier transformations
only.
Workaround: Purge and then reload all PowerCenter resources. Recreate relationships from
custom objects and business terms to PowerCenter metadata objects.

236963 You delete a user in the Informatica domain who is a data steward or owner for a category or a
business term. However, Metadata Manager does not remove the deleted user from the data
steward or owner assignment.
Workaround: After deleting a user who is a data steward or owner for a category or business term,
reassign another user as the data steward or owner.

233569 A PowerCenter resource can contain multiple instances of a mapplet where each mapplet
instance is linked to a different source relational table. When you launch data lineage or view the
impact summary for one of the source relational tables, lineage and the impact summary display
all instances of the mapplet. Data lineage and the impact summary should display only the
mapplet instance linked to the source table.

232802 When the Metadata Manager repository is on a database that contains multibyte data, Metadata
Manager cannot send an email notification when you propose a business term for review.
