failure to provide supervision
or a reliable person to provide
child care.

How to report child abuse:
recognize, report, and respond.
Recognizing: The presence of a
single sign does not mean that child
maltreatment is occurring in a family,
but a closer look at the situation may
be warranted when these signs
appear repeatedly or in combination.
Reporting: You can call CPS (child
protective services) and explain the
situation. There are many numbers
you can call to report it, or simply call
911.

Types of Abuse:
Physical abuse which
involves bodily harm inflicted
on the child.
Emotional abuse can
severely damage a childs
mental health or social
development, leaving lifelong
psychological scars.

Sexual abuse includes any
type of behavior toward a child
that is intended for an
offender's sexual stimulation.
Examples of physical
abuse: hitting and beating
causing physical harm.
Examples of emotional
abuse: belittling, shaming,
and humiliating.
Examples of sexual abuse:
inappropriate touching,
involving in sexual acts,
showing sexual acts, and
engaging in sexual acts.
