GDT is Building Smart City of the Future in Dallas

Dallas, TX, May 17, 2017 --(PR.com)-- GDT, The Dallas-based technology integrator, is building the
smart city of the future. With a project called Deep Ellum Experience, GDT hopes to kick start efforts
to bring the Internet of Things (IoT) to downtown Dallas.

The project centers on a Smart Wi-Fi solution built with Cisco wireless technology and Purple analytics.
The implementation provides a pervasive Guest Wi-Fi network available throughout Deep Ellum, Dallas'
thriving mixed use arts district. Guests can connect to the Deep Ellum Experience network and enjoy free
Wi-Fi internet access while frequenting the many locally-owned retail stores, restaurants and clubs in the
area.

The technology allows for analytics data to be collected providing detailed data and demographic
behavioral insights that will increase footfall to local businesses via customer engagement. From traffic
flow information, to where best to grab a bite to eat or pick up tickets for an event, the solution allows
proprietors to communicate with visitors based on their likes, social interests and frequency of visits.

John Yrigoyen, Director of Mobility for GDT said, We have taken a great deal of time to understand the
capabilities of Purple and we currently view this solution as the market leader based on the rich data it
delivers, the connectors in place with platforms such as TripAdvisor and the training and support
provided by the team. We see so much potential in our partnership and are excited to roll out our
combined solution to more locations, such as cities and colleges in the near future.

Founded in 1996, GDT has a 20-year history of delivering technology solutions for telecom and
enterprise customers. Specializing in complex deployments, the Deep Ellum Experience smart city
project is a natural fit for the company which is home to over 200 of the most highly sought-after
engineers in the industry. That talent is on display in the Deep Ellum project which represents the
beginning of a shift for cities toward developing more comprehensive smart city strategies.

When asked about the relationship with GDT and Deep Ellum, Gavin Wheeldon, CEO of Purple, said,
The installation with Deep Ellum is a perfect example of how Purple can work with partners to deliver a
solution to a city or a space which will enable the Internet of Things to deliver genuine value to that
location and its visitors.

Helping locations to become 'smart' is one of the fundamental elements of the Purple solution and has
driven much of our development to date around features such as location based services and real time
marketing communication tools. We look forward to building on our relationship with GDT and
supporting the team as they take their Deep Ellum Experience prototype to other locations around the US
in the coming months.
