Justice
Is Justice when someone is being set free from prison after DNA evidence

shows they are innocent? Or Is Justice when someone murders someone and gets

sentenced one year? Justice have different meanings in different countries. Justice has

no right or wrong answer, it all depends on your culture. Therefore, justice to me in the

Unites States is enforcing the law and defending the interests, to make the public safety

against threats domestic and foreign, and punishing those who are guilty or unlawful

behavior.

Justice is very different in other countries and cultures. For example, in

Singapore tough punishments keeps the society safe and protects everyone. It keeps

the people away from doing crimes. It states In the Springboard book, in the article

Rough Justice pg.143 Unlike other societies which may tolerate acts of vandalism,

Singapore has its own standards of social order as reflected in our laws against anti-

social crimes that we are able to keep singapore orderly and relatively crime-free says

Singapore 143. Singapore laws are very strict, than the United States. In Norway

In America, we have a different view on justice. When someone commits a

crime we go to jail and do time. In Singapore they canned people for committing a

crime. Canning is a form of corporal punishment consisting of a number of hits with a

single cane usually made of rattan. A guy named Michael Faye was an American

citizen. While visiting in Singapore he vandalized cars and committing crimes. He was
sentenced to six strokes of canning for vandalism and theft. America didn't like that idea,

they said it was too harsh and caning can leave scarring.

Another country with a different perspective on justice is Norway. In Norway

during a youth summer camp a man killed about 80 children for no reason. His name

was Anders Behring Breivik a 32 year old. In the article A Different Justice it says He

will serve out his years in a three room cell with a T.V, exercise room and IKEA style

furniture To me that is not justice at all. Breivik murdered innocent children for no

reason. Breivik should be sentenced to life, but like I said before justice is different in

other countries.

In conclusion, justice to me in the Unites States is enforcing the laws and

defending the interests, to make the public safety against threats domestic and foreign,

and punishing those who are guilty or unlawful behavior. Justice is fairness and what is

right. Different countries have different meanings of justice. In America you murder

someone you get life sentenced, in Norway you get less than 10 years in prison, and in

Singapore you either get caned or a death sentenced. This is what justice means to me

and I feel like countries treat crimes all different.
