Dear Rekha Chohan,

I’m writing to request that the issues I raised in my letter on the 7th of July be
reviewed and responded to by a manager as they were not addressed in either of your
letters.

In your letter dated 21 July, which I received yesterday did not answer any of the
questions in my original letter.

Your letter concluded that I will have to take the issue of the Unpaid Fare notice up
with IRCAS, but as I stated in my original letter to yourselves I was unable to launch
an appeal on the IRCAS website due to the conductor’s refusal to inform me of his
authorisation number, I was hoping that as a result of my letter you would have been
able to provided me with this information‽

Your letter stated your belief that the train manger was right to confiscate my
railcard; this does not however address why the same conductor accepted the same
railcard as being valid before he damaged it, but invalid some twenty minutes later‽

There were several other questions raised, that have so far been ignored including:

 Why was I told that my railcard would still have been acceptable had I paid the
walk -up fare, but was not only
because I was travelling on a cheaper advance ticket?
 Why the conductor was so critical of my use of Welsh place
names, with an attitude that I found to be almost racist?
 Why did the conductor issued me with a unpaid fare notice for the journey from
Walsall to Abercynon when it was only valid on CrossCountry Trains?
 Why did your conductor not provide me with the required information to lodge an
appeal?

I would still like to see these questions answered; in addition I would like to request
a copy of the report from the train manger, along with the name and authorisation
details of the train manger who issued the unpaid fare notice.

I will appreciate from a competent manager a prompt response to these issues.

Yours,

Dr Mark W Beech
