Era of American romanticism and Enlightenment both have things could be compare and
contrast, since both of them have things to do with literature in the early 1700s to 1800s. They
both offer varieties of way how literature changes through time and its impact on today's
literature, from reasons to emotions. They also offer us to know about nature and human nature,
or imaginative and rational. During the Enlightenment era, The literature was consider full of
reasons, ideas, and events. This kind of literature produce work provides idea and knowledge
example of essay, theories, invention, scientific laws, war, and revolution. Meanwhile during
American Romanticism, its literature focus on emotion, passion, tragic ending, and characters as
in protagonist. Allan poe is an example of romanticism because his poetry show emotion while,
Isaac newton as an example of enlightenment because his research shows reason and laws. The
similarities for both is that all their work was meant to be read and understand by people. In
addition to reasons and emotion, both of these was a must read for people who seek knowledge
