Pre Interesting activities

Activities on inventions didnt seem to
relate to the While part of the lesson
when they wrote an essay.
The question for the essay, why are
inventions important to our lives doesnt
relate to pros and cons of inventions.
You also had them write a third
paragraph, why should we be cautious
of inventions? which doesnt seem to
relate to the main question of the essay,
but it might be part of the disadvantages
of inventions.
There didnt seem to be a checklist for
them to follow, which you described in
your lesson plan.
There is not enough time for the students
to write all of the paragraphs.
You ran out of time at the end, which is
an indication that you didnt manage your
time well.

Strengths

Good monitoring and helping students.

Good classroom management.
Interesting activities that engaged the students
You tried to do cooperative learning by giving each student a part of the essay to write. They
need to work together to create the essay which is good.
You had students share with the others the essays that they wrote.

Suggestions

To improve the cooperative learning experience, you could give each student a number between

1 and 5. All the 1s will work together, All the 2s, etc. Each group will work together to make
one paragraph (Introduction, Body Paragraph 1, etc.). Then when they finish they will rejoin
their original group and put the paragraphs together to make a complete essay.
Work on managing your time better.
Make sure your Pre activities match what you want them to do in the While stage.
Make sure the essay question matches the type of essay you want them to write.

Work on improving the cooperative learning for the students.

Work on managing your time better.

You should add an assessment (either formative or summative) to determine to that extent
they have understood the learning objectives of the class.

Please create a number of assessments during your remaining lessons that you teach.
