Naquele dia, recorrero as naes raiz de Jess que est posta por
estandarte dos povos; a glria lhe ser a morada. Naquele dia, o Senhor
tornar a estender a mo para resgatar o restante do seu povo, que for
deixado, da Assria, do Egito, de Patros, da Etipia, de Elo, de Sinar, de
Hamate e das terras do mar. Levantar um estandarte para as naes,
ajuntar os desterrados de Israel e os dispersos de Jud recolher desde os
quatro confins da terra (Isaas 11:10-12).
A New Scofield Reference Bible considera essa passagem um texto
prova para a sua esperada reconstituio futura de Isael como uma
teocracia nacional na Palestina na segunda vinda de Cristo (NSRB 723).
J. F. Walvoord sustenta esse futurismo com um apelo seqncia de
Isaas que descreve primeiro o reino messinico (versos 6-9) e depois o

ajuntamento de Israel (versos 10-15).7 Sobre a base dessa seqncia
literria, Walvoord argumenta, a reunio messinica de Israel tomar
lugar apenas quando o Messias aparecer em glria no comeo do
milnio. Contudo, essa interpretao futurista fracassa em fazer justia,
tanto exegese histrico-gramatical de Isaas 11, quanto interpretao
teolgica do Novo Testamento. Para uma discusso ordenada dessa
profecia messinica devemos relacionar Isaas 11: (1) ao tempo de sua
prpria dispensao; (2) primeira vinda de Cristo; (3) segunda vinda
de Cristo.
