Adoption is Better than Abortion

Many people think that abortion is the right thing to do. Well, this essay is going to

prove that adoption is better than abortion. Abortion has been proven to be wrong in many

different ways. Abortion means that when you abort a child, you are basically murdering a child

that never got to live the life that they could have had. When someone adopts a child, that child

will get the love and needs that they deserve. The parents of a child may get that child taken

away if they are not treating that child fairly, or they are abusing them. At that point, the child is

taken by Children and Youth Services and put into foster care until loving parents want a child

and know that they can give that child the life that they deserve.

Adoption is a loving thing, and a smart thing to think about. Adoption is not considered

commerce because no one buys or sells the child. Some of the things that the adoptive mother

and adoptive father will pay for is the court hearing and the signing of the papers to become their

legal parents. Think about it, if wanting-to-be parents adopt a needy child, that child will be

able to say, my parents adopted me so that I would have the life that I deserve. Not a lot of

children can say that. If you meet a child and then decide that maybe it would be too much, then

that is just leading more children to think that no one will ever love them or meet their needs.

Not a lot of children can say that. Even some parents give up their child because they cannot

afford to have a child. This is mainly teens that will give up their child due to expenses and not

being able to emotionally connect with the child, or not enough experience with childcare.

Adoption is not only the right thing to do for a kid that needs it, but it will reduce the

needy children that need a place to stay, people to love, and a school to go to for education, and

getting those so-wanted things they deserve as they grow.

There are charges brought against some birth parents if the birth parent were to give up a

child depending on the circumstances. If convicted, the parents face up to six months in jail and

a $1000 fine, for this misdemeanor. (Jordan par 112)

There are a lot of things that can turn out right, and things that will make certain people

want to regret this decision. Quite a few of the abortions that happen are from teens that cannot

afford to have a child and go to school or college at the same time.

Teenage girls that are still in school; they like that boys will give them what they want,

but sometimes that means taking it farther than they wanted to take it. If a teenage girl gets

pregnant, then the birth mother and birth father of the baby would not only have to tell their

parents but also make a decision of aborting because they cannot afford to have a baby, or going

the whole way with the pregnancy and then maybe put it up for adoption when the child is old

enough. The majority of teenagers would abort because they are scared about the whole

pregnancy thing or they just do not want the child.

Abortion is also a damaging thing to relationships and families (10 Reasons Why

Abortion is Wrong). Abortion not only hurts the person that is carrying the baby, but also hurts

the rest of the family and the family of the father as well.

A lot of times, the birth father will get the girl pregnant and then leave her because he

does not want to deal with the child, or the decision that the birth mother has to make. Abortion

also violates civil rights (10 Reasons Why Abortion is Wrong). Violating civil rights is

discriminatory, inhuman, and cruel (10 Reasons Why Abortion is Wrong).

Some people believe that abortion is practically carrying on evil. Knowing that you had

or wanted to abort a child mentally destroys the family by making it more difficult for those

who survive beyond the womb to find their family welded together (10 Reasons Why Abortion

is Wrong). Abortion is a lot like a crime. Abortion is denying someone a well-deserved life

(Pros and Cons About Abortion).

It is very disturbing to some people to find out that there are more abortions that happen

then there are adoptions. This could mean that not a lot of girls are thinking, they are just

aborting because they had no other choice. Sometimes even, it is the parents fault for the girl

wanting to abort because the parents are beyond being upset. The overall reason for girls

aborting is because they do not think. Quick decisions on the part of the birth parent for any

reason could result in abortion in place of adoption.

Some girls even think that its cool to abort. The girls that get pregnant while still in

high school will get made fun of for getting pregnant, or they will have no one to help them

through the situation. It not only punishes the girl, but also punishes the birth father as well

because of the birth mother wanting to abort the child. When the birth father is ready to move on

to other girls, his reputation is always damaged.

Abortion will lead to unwanted memories. If the girl dwells on these memories for long,

it could lead to great stress and depression (Pros and Cons of Abortion). Abortion may make

the birth mother think that she has done something wrong and against her own beliefs.

Adoption is actually one of the best answer that you could have for someone that does

not know what to do if they get pregnant and do not want the child. It also helps with needy kids

all over the world that do not have parents, friends or anything they deserve.

In conclusion, adoption is better than abortion depending on the reason for the pregnancy.

In other words, it is better to let the child have a life instead of aborting a child that deserves to

live. Even though abortion and adoption can lead to the birth parents wondering if their decision

was the right one. Adoption can save a life while abortion can end a life.
