Site Manager based in Gibraltar

This is a great opportunity to join a growing dynamic organisation and to be at the cutting
edge of water and wastewater treatment development.

We are looking for a person with proven site management experience in the construction of
wastewater treatment projects.

As Site Manager you will be responsible for the supervision of the construction of a complex
DBFO wastewater treatment plant serving a population equivalent of 60,000 in Gibraltar.
The project implementation will be through a number of main subcontractors (civil and
MEICA) from differing countries and cultures and the supervision and control of these will
be paramount to the success of the contract.

You must be able to interact successfully with various disciplines (civil, mechanical and
electrical) and as such you must have a proven track record of covering a multidisciplinary
approach.

You will report directly to the Modern Water Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities
Supervision of construction, installation and commissioning of wastewater treatment
plant, pumping stations and pipelines
Site co-ordination and site administration
Ensuring strict compliance with Health and Safety procedures
Supervision, monitoring and quality control of subcontractor's activities (civil, mechanical,
electrical)
Supervision of pressure tests, plate bearing test, cube tests and quality inspection
according to technical specifications
Monitoring of quality, progress and programme of work
Provision of all necessary on-site direction and issue of site instructions
Preparation of daily/weekly reports
Preparation of interim payment certificates (IPC)
Maintain effective relations with the Client/Consultant throughout the project

Candidate Profile
Reporting to the Project Manager, the candidate will have the following qualifications,
attributes and experience:
Proven experience in construction site management of water/wastewater treatment
plants, pumping stations and large diameter pipelines
Ability to interact successfully with various disciplines (must cover multidisciplinary
approach - civil, mechanical, electrical)
Proven ability to effectively co-ordinate subcontractors/suppliers with different cultural
background
High level of motivation, good interpersonal skills and a flexible attitude are required
Demonstrable site management and organisational skills
Experience of working overseas will be a major advantage
Good IT skills (MS Office, MS Project)

Qualifications: A Degree or HND in a relevant engineering discipline with proven


experience.

Location: Directly site based in Gibraltar

Contract & Salary: Salary including completion bonus in the region of 90,000 per
annum, depending on experience plus benefits.
It is envisaged that this position would be a fixed term 18 month or
2 year contract.
