APM Application Performance Monitoring
EUE End User Experience
Long ago, IT was simple with single monolithic applications running on a single
server. Contemporary IT consists of multi-tier applications consisting of multiple
components running across multiple physical and virtual computerssometimes
across clusters of computers. Users interact differently with different tiers;
customers might pass a website in their computers web browser, while partner
components might connect directly to certain multi-tier components. The
applications have simply become too complex, too distributed and too
interdependent. APM is now officially difficult. In order to regain control, we need to
step back and start developing new ways of thinking about our applications.
required to manage issues that involve dealing with multiple vendors for the

stack and problem resolution.
