My project explores the use of factory farming to feed Americans, and

if we should continue to do so. Although meat is a staple in the American

diet, the US should not be using CAFOs to provide meat for the country

because it is an inhumane practice, they have detrimental effects on the

environment, and they drive smaller farms out of business because they are

unable to compete.

This source provides facts and explanations of the effects of factory

farming on the environment. This is an informational and slightly persuasive

website, geared towards educating people about the detrimental effects of

factory farming on the environment.

This site was done by a special interest group that promotes advocacy

for poorly treated farm animals and provides a sanctuary for them. The

intended audience includes readers who want to learn more about how

factory farms harm the environment.

The author of this website has a lot of knowledge in their field and

cares greatly about the animal welfare cause. The intended audience of the

piece is readers who want to learn more about factory farming from the

perspective of the animal.

This source provides insight on the economic effects of factory farms.

This was done as background research for a series of presentations to be

done about factory farming and its effects. This is an informational piece that

has a call for action at the end of it, urging us to change our ways before it's

too late.

The author states that he has plenty of personal experience with

CAFOs and has been published as an authority in the world of CAFO


opposition. The intended audience is anyone looking for facts about factory

farms and predictions about our future in factory farming.
