Annotated Bibliography

The human race, we have created technology that previous generations would never

imagine possible. One of these items is a machine, a machine that will allow us to travel places

faster than riding on a horse, or even walking. The car was a big step in the right direction for the

human race. It enabled us to take ourselves to places quicker, and as time went on these cars got

more and more advanced and faster. The cars we have in present day are very technologically

advanced, however, we have taken a step ahead of that and created cars that can drive

themselves. My argument is that these autonomous cars are the future of transportation. Even

though there is the possibility of a malfunction, Self driving cars, or Autonomous cars are the

future of human transportation because it will reduce traffic significantly as well as decrease if

not eliminate accidents caused by human error.

Brombacher, Aarnout. (Re)Liability of SelfDriving Cars. An Interesting Challenge!

Quality and Reliability Engineering International, Wiley Online Library, 25 July 2014,

onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/qre.1707/full. Accessed 10 Apr. 2017.

Aarnout Brombacher writes about how when self-driving cars were first introduced, and

how it provided engineers with the task of making these cars reliable. Also he talks about in the

article about how self driving cars will become less complex.

This article by Aarnout Brombacher, gives me details about how self driving cars will

become less complex. When the complexity of the cars start to decrease the challenges with the

models will become simplified. The simplification of these cars will lead to cars being more

financially affordable for the average person. This article also includes a picture of what the first

self driving car looked like when the company Google created and manufactured it.

Janet Fleetwood discusses the health and ethics of self driving cars. She talks about how

these cars would save many people's lives per year due to less accidents. In this article there is

data about how autonomous cars will reduce the deaths of many humans. Later in the article she

talks about government regulation of these driverless cars and discusses how the government

would regulate these vehicles. Since many manufacturers are already in the process of making

these vehicles the government will need to act quick.

This research gives me very good data and statistics about self driving cars and how it

could really help out the human death toll due to automotive deaths. As well as give me more

information on how the government will regulate these driverless cars and what laws and ethics

will become in place.

In the article written by Alexander Hevelke and Julian Nida-Rumelin they discuss major

issues with the idea of autonomous cars getting into accidents. Also they discuss about who is

responsible for the accident. They talk about the idea of if it was the manufactures fault for the

car getting into the accident. As well as they talk about the liability of the driver or human in the

car.

This article is one of my most strongest resource for finding out data about human death

with normal human driveable cars as well as with autonomous cars. This article provides me

with information about liability issues with self driving cars, as well as the liability issues with

the person that is in the car.

The article talks about the computer component of these self driving cars. With sources

used from Googles self driving car project discusses how they created the car and how the

technology in the car such as the sensors, etc. work together to get the car moving by itself.

This article provides me with good evidence about self driving cars and all the sensors

and programming that goes into these cars. This article helps me with my claim because of it

talks about how they program the car to avoid typical human error crashes as well as very rare

accidents.

The article by Steven Shladover, talks about the issues with self driving cars. And gives

evidence about what could go wrong with these cars when they have been driving around for a

while. Also by talking about what manufacturers will due to avoid certain situations such as

weather conditions.

This article is a key component to my paper because it goes against my claim. And how

that self driving cars are going to be not as good as they seem they will be. This is the article I

needed to write my opposing side's argument with my claim. And this article gives a lot of valid

points about why these driverless cars are the same as human drivers.

2017.http://library.cqpress.com/cqresearcher/document.php?id=cqresrre2017021700&type=hitlist&num=0

In the article by Ellen Kennerly she discusses the how autonomous cars will reduce the

traffic on traffic heavy highways and roads. She talks about a lot of statistics with human drivers

and what we do wrong when we drive. As well as talk about how these cars will help deaths

reduce as well since traffic is being reduced. The article provides information about every topic

from texting while driving to driving while drunk and how the self driving cars will fix these.

This article provides the best evidence to backup my claim that self driving cars will

reduce traffic and deaths to humans by accidents. With all of the charts and statistics in the article

it provides me with the information I need to persuade and discuss why autonomous cars are the

future and why we need these cars on the road as fast as possible.

David Hosansky discusses in his article the future of cars. And how these cars will have

the communications skills to avoid crashes. As well as have crash detection so the car wont hit

anything that is in the roads. Also he discusses how lasers are the key to self driving cars and

how lasers will make these cars capable of driving without error since the car will know its

surrounding.

Accessed 5 May 2017.

This article provides me with the best evidence that the future of cars will be autonomous

cars. And backs up my claim to almost perfection, and gives me the evidence and the facts I need

in my paper. It improves my argument exceptionally, and is a key role in the persuasion of my

paper. This article gives me the resources to thoroughly discuss the future of cars and puts up a

huge challenge for those who oppose the idea of self driving cars.

In the article written by Erick Guerra, he talks about how self driving cars will allow

those people who couldnt drive before be able to get into a car and get to a destination faster

than taking a bus or a subway. Also he discusses how these cars will allow people to get out of

there car and how the car would be able to park itself somewhere behind a building.

The article gives me good ideas and evidence that self driving cars will be nice to have. It

backups my claim very well and gives good detail on how these cars will improve the lives of

many people. This article good examples of how self driving cars will improve people's lives,

And how these care will become better and more safe and just overall something people really

need to have in there life.
