Proposed Guidelines for the 2017 Division Research Congress

1. The research congress is open to all research practitioners and enthusiasts in DepEd
Dagupan City, teaching and nonteaching personnel.

2. With the theme: Strengthening the Research Culture in DepEd Dagupan City through the
Basic Education Research Agenda the Conference shall focus on showcasing Educational and
Action Researches conducted in the school, district and division level to address problems
related to access, quality and governance of basic education focusing on the following themes
and are likewise based on the Basic Education Research Agenda of DepEd -- Theme 1:
Teaching and Learning; Theme 2: Child Protection; Theme 3: Human Resource Development;
and Theme 4: Governance.

3. The conference will replicate the usual conduct of research fora in the local and
international venues. The Schools Division Office, DepEd Dagupan City will manage the
conference.

4. Paper presenters are required to submit to the Division Screening Committee one printed
copy of the full version of their paper which shall not exceed 3,000 words (about 10 pages in
double space, using A4 size bond paper with Times New Roman font style, size 12) not later
than September 29, 2017 and email it to tchr921yeng@gmail.com. Please follow the prescribed
format.

5. The full version of the paper with the author, date in-text referencing format, shall have the
following parts:
Title
Abstract (not more than 200 words)
Introduction (including statement of the problem)
Brief Review of Literature (including the synthesis of the state-of-the-art
conceptual/theoretical framework)
Methodology and Research Design (including research respondents and instruments)
Results and Discussion (presented on the basis of the research questions)
Conclusion & Recommendation
References

6. Paper presenters shall be guided by the following pointers:

a. The oral presentation shall last for 15 -20 minutes per Oral Presenter with 10
minutes for open forum.
b. The LCD projector will be provided by the organizer.
c. Presenters may distribute hand-outs / brochure to interested participants after the
presentation.

7. Each Paper Presenter for Oral Presentation will present the gist of the following:
Introduction; Research Questions/Objectives; Conceptual Framework; Methodology & Research
Design; Summary of Results & Discussion; and Conclusion & Recommendations.

8. For poster presentation, presenters are advised to use vertical (portrait) lay out at 48x36
inches size. Font size is from 16-18. Poster should include the Abstract, Introduction, Research
Questions, Research Design, Results & Discussions, Conclusions & Recommendation, and
References. For uniformity, the organizer shall prepare the stand. It shall be displayed on the
designated area the day before the congress proper.
