What the teacher does: What the children do:

The teacher reminds the students about the upcoming Mothers The students understood and memorized the lyrics to the I Love My
Day celebration. And , at first, we got the students to memorize the song a few Mommy, after listening to it 2-4 times a day.
days ago, by first explaining the lyrics and what they mean, followed playing the song
2-4 times every day and singing along with it.

The teacher created a dance and went over it with their classroom teacher to The students sat by the carpet and observed the teacher modeling
ensure that it would suit the students well before the class, the teacher then showed the dance.
the students the full dance to make sure theyre not overwhelmed later whilst teaching
the dance choreography.

The teacher first asked them to place both hands stretched up and then connect Each student copies the gesture and understand the main concept of

to them that they are creating a heart for their mothers, to symbolize the love they
have for their mothers.

The teacher asks the students to first place both hands near their collar bones to The students understand the gesture and follow along the dance with

during the performance.

during the thank you mommy and to make a gesture of a huge circle as wide as they performance
can to show the all you do. Happy Mothers Day I love you the teacher asked them
to place their fingers on each corner of their lips and to smile, and to bend their
bodied slightly to the left then right and the I love you was the same as the beginning.
The teacher played the song and had students follow her lead and practiced the dance
for weeks, they rehearsed the dance two days before Mothers Day in the center area
of the KG section.

Extension Ideas:
The teacher could extend the idea by asking the students questions such as What do you love your mommy most for? and
have each student express their appreciation for their mothers and to have them explore their emotions.

General Evaluation of the Performance:

The performance wasnt as good as I expected it to be, because we barely had time to practice given a week
and a half. Also with the students being shy and confused with the dance change they started to either stand
still or look around for guidance which is why I danced at the back.
