Students will be completing an opinion writing using a partial
multi-flow map.

Instructional Strategies/Method of Delivery:


-T. will review the partial multi-flow map with students.
-T. will remind students of the animals they can choose.
-T. will model how to find facts about their animal.
-Students will complete their multi-flow map and do the writing.
Common Core Standard:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.1.2
Write informative/explanatory texts in which they name a topic, supply some facts
about the topic, and provide some sense of closure.
ELD Standard:
10. Writing
Write very short literary texts (e.g., story) and informational texts (e.g., a description of an
insect) using familiar vocabulary collaboratively with an adult (e.g., joint construction of texts),
with peers, and sometimes independently
Common Core Lesson Objective:
Students will complete an informative text writing using facts from a partial multi-flow map.
Assessment:
Formative: Students will give a thumbs up or down about facts.
Summative: Teacher will read students maps to understand whether they understood their facts.
Lesson/Assessment Modifications: ELL: Special Needs
EL- Student will be given a buddy who she can ask for assistance with reading and spelling of
words.
Speech- Student will be provided with additional time and teacher assistance.
Technology: Describe the types of technology you will be utilizing in your lesson to create
and enhance instruction

information.

Students will need to recall the animals we have learned about. They will also need to
know where to find information and understanding facts.

Students will need basic writing skills and know how to find information in their
