Fusion Reactors

Fusion is the act of two nuclei merging together into one substance. In the article, Fusion
Reactors by Time Magazine in 2002 tells us that this reaction is such as of the collision or process in
which occurs in stars. This reaction is greatly desirable because this requires for the reaction to become
heated to a certain level that is difficult to contain this reaction on Earth. This energy source is so
desirable because it is so cheap and can end the means of fossil energy.
While having this idea of fusion that consists of two atoms nuclei merging to create energy of
plasma, fission is another reaction which is the complete opposite. Fission is the act of rupture of nuclei
which then becomes smaller parts of which it was before such as a chain reaction. This process is created
by release of enormous energy and radiation (Times Magazine, 2002).
There have been technological challenges into making fusion reactors is that atomic nuclei dont
like to fuse to which Times Magazine compares these nuclei as magnets with same charges repelling one
another which then requires a great deal heat towards the plasma to which the nuclei may bang or
merge together. The other challenge of this is containing the fourth state matter like plasma which is
wildly unstable.
The public perception of reactors and their production is very concerning because the private
sector supports a robustly diverse range of methodologies. (Times Magazine, 2002) However, some
people such as Laberge found this idea inspiring to which he decided was going to be something big to
accomplish. I know this when he says, I decide to start a fusion company, which is pretty insane, but
thats what I went for. I guess, go big in life. (Laberge, 2002) This shows that people are ready to see this
source of plasma energy which will become one of the greatest containment in human history.
This idea of plasma energy is discussed because our sources of energy isnt constant as of plasma.
For example, our sources are temporary to which solar and wind energy require a factor of the sun
reflecting on solar panels or winds strong enough to move wind turbines. This idea of plasma energy can
help the world's energy challenges to not always rely on the sun or wind because of what our world may
look like in the future. I say this because pollution may be overridden to which we may not be able to
gain any energy of the sun and can only rely on what is being produced, plasma energy.
