Activity 1 Class Intro


I will show the days powerpoint and remind students of our current unit theme,

Cold call a student to read the posted objective to the class
Ask for volunteer to answer the question What is an idiom? in English
Explain that these phrases are idiomatic because Tener isnt being
interpreted as To have. Rather, its figurative meaning is To be.

I will read and act out the meaning of each phrase.

Notes - TENER conjugation


I will explain that we use these idiomatic phrases by conjugating TENER in the
present tense according to the subject of the sentence. Students will remind me
how to conjugate TENER in the present tense and I will write it on an anchor
chart. Students will write the proper conjugations in the chart provided in their
notes.
Activity 2 Guided Practice

based on the 7 TENER phrases (hambre, sed, calor, fro, sueo, cuidado, prisa).

Based on the images and the text on the powerpoint slides, students will have to
choose the correct form of TENER and the correct phrase ending. Students will
hold up both of their cards to me.

Students will have to hold up their cards each time to receive full participation
credit. Once all of the students have held up their cards, I will ask one student to
read the correct answer.

We will continue this for about 10 minutes.

Final I will be assessing students by their Billete de salida. Students will complete
Assessment their Billete de salida on the space provided on their classwork worksheet.
