INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
INSTALLATION:

Download and install our download utility (found in the email you received from us). We offer both PC and MAC versions of
the download tool.

1. Enter the ENTIRE serial code (found in the email you received from us)

2. The download utility will automatically download and install your library.

3. The library can be found through the regular browser in Kontakt.

TROUBLESHOOTING DOWNLOADS:

The download utility should generally work for all download purposes, however please use our manual download links if
you encounter any issues. The manual download links are generally slower downloads, but allows you to download the com-
pressed library files (.rar compression) through your browser. You can access the manual download links here:

TROUBLESHOOTING KONTAKT:

This library does NOT use the add library function in Kontakt and all files must be access through the regular Kontakt brows-
er (upper left side of Kontakt). Please use the file browser in Kontakt and locate the program (.nki) files in the library to use it.

OVERVIEW
The New Epic Frame Drum Ensemble is the most
comprehensive and deep-sampled collection of large
scale Epic Frame Drum Ensembles on the market. The
library is a completely remastered, redesigned and
reprogrammed edition of our original Epic Frame Drum
Ensemble. The New Epic Frame Drum Ensemble contains
over 2.500 samples, ensemble and solo frame drums, more
then 1000 ensemble loops, built-in articulation browser,
internal step-sequencer, front-face FX, textural
convolutions and our newest 3.4 Chaos Engine.
The New Epic Frame Drum Ensemble contains deep
sampled Irish Bodhrn drums, North African Tar drums,
Egyptian Riqs, Persian Dafs and North American tribal
drums. We captured them in a large A-frame chapel for
an authentic, naturally massive sound that no artificial
algorithmic or convolution reverb can truly simulate. We
recorded them in small chamber (divisi) sections and full
ensemble groupings and covering both traditional and
expanded playing styles and articulations.
The Frame Drum represents one of the most widespread
and versatile families of drums with a history crossing
through ancient Middle East, India, Rome and through
a variety of Islamic cultures. The Frame Drum defined by
the simple characteristic that the width of the drumhead
is greater then its depth, but besides from that the Frame
Drum comes in thousands of variations. It is known for its
distinct sustained sound and its multi-resonant qualities.
The Frame Drum is traditionally tuned with straps or lugs,
while others are permanently set at a fixed pitch. Many
also incorporate beads, rattles, cymbals, jingles, rings,
bells, snares or other accessories, to augment the primary
sound and add specialized auxiliary articulations. Some
are played with hands, while others use thin sticks, thick
bones, soft mallets, combs, brushes and other specialized
tools to produce a huge range of unique musical tones
and effects. Some members of the Frame Drum family
may even lack a striking head and rely entirely on rattles or
other elements to produce their sound.
MAIN screen
The Main Screen contains all the vital controls in
order to shape the core mechanics of the sound, from
patch selection and mixer controls to our front face
effects. Everything is right there at your fingertips.

*NOTE - You can always reset a control to its default

value by simply using (CMD + Click).

The articulation menu allows you to select the When active the sequencer allows you to program
playable articulation by simply clicking the drum pattern sequences playable directly from the
category name, and then the desired sub category. keys.

TIME - Alters the time signature of the sequence.

TRIPLET - Alters the time signature to a triplet.
RANDOM - Generates a random pattern.
RESET - Brings the sequence back to its default
pattern.
FRONT FACE EFFECTS
ENVELOPE - Allows you to alter the natural volume
envelope of each triggered sample.
RESPONSE - Alters the dynamic response of your
MIDI device.
FILTER - Allows quick access to the filters found on
the effects page.
PITCH - Allows for both course and fine global
tuning of the selected patch preset.
FRONT FACE EFFECTS
DELAY - Allows quick access to the delay found on the
effects page.
CRUSHER - Allows quick access to the LoFi and
distortion found on the effects page.
TRANSFORM - Allows quick access to the Transform
convolution reverb foundo n the effects page.
EQ - Offers quick front page access to the multi bad
equaliser found on the effects page.
RANDOM - Randomises the activated effects.
RESET - Restores the effetcs back to their default
settings.

The Effects page consists of multiple rack effects.
To scroll through the available effects you can use
the neon blue scroll bar on the far right. To auto
scroll up and down you can click on the bottom
left / right, top / left right or middle left / right, this
will auto scroll to the approriate position.
FILTER controls an independant LOW PASS [CC74] and HIGH PASS [CC75] filter. These smooth filters can be directly
controlled by the interface, or by the included ADSR envelope [CCs 76-79]. VINTAGE enables a subtle phaser affect which is
great for adding a thin resonant level of air on top of the filter. You can even automate the filter with the included sequencer,
located on the SEQ page. And Of course, you can hit CHAOS in order to randmise every relavant parameter.

The Settings page consists of the Envelope buttons which allow you to choose which filter type is controlled by the envelope,
and the Sequencer buttons which allow you to choose which filter is type is controlled by the sequencer.
We also included RATE which adjusts the speed of the sequence remaining synced to your host tempo. STEPS which adjusts
the available amount of steps in the Sequencer and ON NOTE which will restart the sequence upon every new note played.
EQ controls an 3 band Equaliser, we have included a handful of useful presets to help you in scullpting your sound. We also
have included a CHAOS control, this allows you to randmise every value, which is extremely useful for carving out new and
interesting sounds.

The Settings page consists of a few vital controls to help control the CHAOS switch. Such as MOTION, which constantly
randomises and animates every relevant parameter. RANGE which alters the amount of randomisation under both MOTION
and CHAOS. And the CHAOS / FLOW switch which changes the type of randmisation available. CHAOS is purely random based
on a value below your current settings and the RANGE, whereas FLOW analyses and adjusts your current settings depending
on your RANGE allowing you to have a more subtle evolution of randomisation.
DEGRADER consists of a BIT CRUSHER and a DISTORTION unit. Of course we also have included a CHAOS control, which
allows you to randmise every value, which is extremely useful for carving out new and interesting sounds.

The Settings page consists of a few vital controls to help control the CHAOS switch. Such as MOTION, which constantly
randomises and animates every relevant parameter. RANGE which alters the amount of randomisation under both MOTION
and CHAOS. And the CHAOS / FLOW switch which changes the type of randmisation available. CHAOS is purely random based
on a value below your current settings and the RANGE, whereas FLOW analyses and adjusts your current settings depending
on your RANGE allowing you to have a more subtle evolution of randomisation.
DELAY consists of 2 sequential delays, this allows you to build complex rhythms and sequences by simply using different time
values. Each delay has a wet MIX parameter, a tempo synced TIME control, and FEEDBACK and PAN controls to help control the
style and poer of the delay. We also went a step further, and added a a LOW and HIGH PASS filter to the end of the chain, this
allows you to filter out certain frequencies only in the feedback of the delay ensuring it doesnt conflict with your main sound.
And, you guessed it, we included a CHAOS control, so you are able to randomise every relevant parameter, creating some truly
amazing delay patterns. Both delays and the filters also work intelligently, meaning if you are not using them or they are set to
a minimal value, they will bypass themselves in order to save your CPU load.
TRANSFORM contains a powerful impulse convolution with some truly strange and wonderful presets. To change what
convolution is loaded, simply select the preset dropdown menu, and load any of our hand designed impulse responses. From
fog horns, to car crashes, engine revs to world ending drones, we have included a handful of our favourite custom recorded
and designed presets. If you are feeling indesisive, you can also select the CHAOS control, which will randomly assign a preset
for you, as well as alter the available controls for some truly esoteric results. The included controls can help you further shape
the convolution, such as MIX which alters the wet value of the insert, SIZE which stretches or compresses the impulse,
PRE-DELAY which adds a small delay before the impulse is triggered, and of course a HIGH and LOW PASS FILTER, which
allows you to shape the frequency of the impulse convolution layer.
REVERB contains a powerful convolution reverb partnered with a digital reverb. To change what convolution is loaded,
simply select the preset dropdown menu, and load any of our custom recorded impulse responses. We have included a
variety, of real acoustic spaces we use and love, such as recording studios, churches, cathedrals and halls. As well as a few not
so acoustic spaces we equally love. We have also crafted a quick and useful room positioner tool, by clicking anywhere in the
ROOM area you can access a variety of crafted presets which load custom settings ontop of your chosen convolution reverb.
This is a great tool for quickly placing your sound in designed space. Or of course you can select the CHAOS control and let the
engine do the choosing for you.
The included controls are similar as to the TRANSFORM module except REVERB has a digital counterpart. This can be bypassed
by using the DIGITAL ON/OFF switch.

1. LICENSE GRANT
The license for this product is granted only to a single user. You may use this product on up to two
(2) separate computers, which computers shall be owned and used by you exclusively. If you need
more, special arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis. All sounds and samples in this
product are licensed, but not sold, to you by 8Dio, Inc. for commercial and non-commercial use
in music, sound-effect, audio/video post-production, performance, broadcast or similar nished
content-creation and production use. SUCH DAMAGES, OR OF ANY CLAIM BY ANY OTHER PARTY.
8Dio allows you to use any of the sounds and samples in the library / libraries youve purchased
for commercial recordings without paying any additional license fees or providing source attri-
bution to 8Dio, Inc. This license is non-transferable and expressly forbids resale or lease of the
product(s).
This license also expressly forbids any inclusion of content contained within this library, or any
other 8Dio library, into any other virtual instrument or library of any kind, without our express
written consent. This license forbids any re-distribution method of this product, or its sounds,
through any means, including but not limited to, re-sampling, mixing, processing, isolating, or
embedding into software or hardware of any kind, for the purpose of re-recording or reproduc-
tion as part of any free or commercial library of musical and/or sound effect samples and/or ar-
ticulations, or any form of musical sample or sound effect sample playback system or device or
on a stand alone basis.
2. RIGHTS/WATERMARKING POLICY
The product, including accompanying documentation, is protected by copyright laws and inter-
national copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties. 8Dio retains
full copyright privileges and complete ownership of all recorded sounds, instrument program-
ming, documentation and musical performances included in this product. Any rights not specifi-
cally granted herein are reserved by 8Dio.
Any unauthorized use, distribution or reproduction of the product shall not be permitted, and
shall constitute a violation of law, and shall entitle 8Dio to, in addition to any other remedy at
law or equity, injunctive relief. It is unlawful to deliberately circumvent, alter or delete technologi-
cal measures of protection and information provided by 8Dio which identies the products, its
owner and the terms and conditions for its use. Please note that the product has been imbedded
with a digital watermark specific to the serial number you have been given for this product. If
the product ends up in other peoples music, you will be held legally responsible, so we ask you
to keep this product for yourself. You further agree to take all reasonable steps to protect this
product from unauthorized copying or use.
3. REFUNDS
Downloaded libraries cant be returned, so we cant provide refunds.

4. LIMITED WARRANTY/LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
AND CONDITIONS, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WAR-
RANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WARRANTIES OF SATIS-
FACTORY QUALITY, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, WITH REGARD TO THE PRODUCT. TO THE
MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER 8DIO, ITS SUPPLIERS, DEALERS, DISTRIBUTORS,
NOR THE AGENTS OR EMPLOYEES OF THE FOREGOING WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSE-
QUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES OF ANY SORT, (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION,
DAMAGES FOR LOST PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION OR LOSS OF DATA ARISING OUT OF THE
USE OF THE PRODUCT) WHETHER OR NOT SAME HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF
5. TERMS
This license agreement is effective from the moment the product is installed by any means. The
license will remain in full effect until termination. The license is terminated if you break any of
the terms or conditions of this agreement. Upon termination you agree to destroy all copies and
contents of the product at your own expense. In the event of termination, the following sections
of this license will survive: 2, 3, 4 and 7.
6. NFR (Not for Resale)/EDU (Educational) Sales:
All 8dm libraries are subject to the terms of this license agreement, unless specied otherwise.
NFR and EDU copies are exempt from update or upgrades or additional discounts, sales or cou-
pons. Notwithstanding other sections of this license, any products provided to you for an EDU
purpose shall only be used by students or faculty, staff and administration attending or working
in educational institutional facilities and must not be used for commercial purposes.
GENERAL TERMS
(a). This license shall be governed by California law applicable to contracts fully negotiated, ex-
ecuted and performed therein. Only the California courts (state and federal) shall have jurisdiction
over controversies regarding this license; any proceeding involving such a controversy shall be
brought in those courts, in Los Angeles County, and not elsewhere. In the event of any claim
arising from the breach or alleged breach of the terms of this license, the prevailing party shall be
entitled to reasonable attorneys fees and court costs.
(b) You agree that this license contains the complete agreement between the parties hereto, and
supersedes all other communication, relating to the subject matter of the license.
(c) You acknowledge that you have read this license and understand it and agree to be bound by
its terms and conditions.
