1. Ability WJ-III-Cognitive I found this assessment to be very time consuming and difficult to
administer. Therefore, it may not be cost effective school districts. Since this is an IQ
assessment it may be perceived as biased to minorities.
2. Achievement WJ-III-Achievement: This is an ability achievement test that can be used for
educational, clinical, and research purposes. It can provide guidance in an educational
setting or a clinical setting as well. It consists of 22 subtests and is given to primary
students through young adults. The areas of testing include reading, oral language,
math, written language and other clusters of subject areas.
3. Behavior Conners3: The Conners3 assessment allows the educator to gain an insight on a
students behavior and how to adjust instruction around the behavior if needed. It is a
behavioral assessment that a parent and teacher can fill out, as well as, the child if old
enough. Such disorders as ADHD, ADD and Conduct Disorder can be assessed
through this test.
4. Language TOAL-4 Oral and written skills were measured on this assessment for the English
language. It was easy to administer and score, but time consuming to take.
5. Math KeyMath: This assessment measures a students understanding and application of
math skills. It is given to students in K-9th grades to determine their math concepts.
Tools are available for score, but are difficult and time consuming.
6. Modality SBMI This assessment measures modalities, Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic. Raw
scores are converted into percentages.
7. Self- Piers Harris I s a self report instrument for children and adolescents ages 7-18. The
Concept sample used in for the scores in this assessment was 1,387. Raw scores were
converted into percentages and T-scores, and then plotted.
8. Vocabulary PPVT This assessment measures the hearing vocabulary of children and young
adults with the norm sample being based from grades K-12. Raw scores from this
assessment can be converted to several different scores, including percentiles,
stanines, age and grade equivalents, etc.

14...BDI-II: This is a depression inventory designed to measure the severity of depression in adults and adolescents
aged 13 and over. It only requires 5-10 minutes to administer and is easy to grade.
11.BDIS: This is a behavioral assessment. It assesses learning problems, interpersonal relations, inappropriate
behavior, unhappiness/depression, and physical symptoms/fears.
12.ABAS II: This Adaptive Behavior Assessment System II was very complex in assessing and the teacher observed
the students behavior and recorded it on an assessment sheet. It is used for ages 5-21 in the school setting.

Madison is in the general education classroom. She is outgoing, yet keeps mainly to herself

because she tends to get into trouble with other students. She has difficulty with reading

comprehension and doesnt like reading class, but has expressed an interest in Science because

she likes animals and hopes to work as a zoo keeper after graduating from school and would like

to be a Science teacher. Madison has two other sisters that attend the same school. She has a

sister in fifth grade and a sister in kindergarten. Madison is in third grade and claims that her

younger sister gets most of moms attention. She has expressed that she likes comic books, but

that no one reads to her at home. She is currently struggling in her reading class and her reading

teacher has expressed concern for Madison claiming that she may be held back if she doesnt

pass the Third Grade Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA).
