Catholic orphanage. The Brother introduced baseball to Babe which he was very good at. By the
age of fifteen Babe showed skill as a pitcher and a hitter, but it was his pitching that caught the
attention of Jack Dunn the owner of the major league Baltimore Orioles
(biography.com/baberuth). Babe Ruth was on the Baltimore Orioles for a while until he was
called to the majors in Boston Red Sox. Babe Ruth became very talented and valuable to the Red
Socks which eventually he led them through 3 championships. Babe Ruth had an impact on the
game of baseball, the economy, and made something good rise up from the depression.
Babe Ruth impacted the game of baseball by breaking many records which caught
people's attention. Babe Ruth first went to play club baseball, but shortly after that went on to the
majors to play there. Babe Ruth, as a rookie, exploded the scoreboard during his season. Baseball
was not popular when Babe first started basebal. It was a man filled event. Women and children
did not go to the baseball games. While Babe Ruth started playing was when it started to get big.
Babe Ruth was becoming very popular in the baseball world as a pitcher and hitter. Babe in
1919, hit 29 homeruns which was a new season record. Babe hit more homeruns than anybody in
the whole league. News broke out about his performance and drew crowds to the fields. Babe
had a unique way of swinging the bat and other players began practicing this new technique. This

game of baseballwhich was true. The game was not as popular until Babe Ruth started playing

Babe Ruth's unique style of hitting caught the attention of many people to watch him
which skyrocketed the baseballs economy. Babe Ruth's performance cased the baseball game to
change like in 1918, 1,989 stolen bases, 7,382 runs scored and 235

on-the-game-of-baseball/). In 1921 1,487 stolen bases, 11,928 runs scored and 937 homeruns

game-of-baseball/). The next three years while Babe was playing Were a high for baseball
because stolen bases were decreased by 25%, runs scored increase by 61%, and home runs by
300% which brought tons of fans to the game of baseball. There were more fans for baseball than
ever before this became a family event to attend to not just men. People were excited and packed
out the baseball games after news got out that Babe was leading the way in scoring with a 29
because in 1920 he hit 54 home runs which broke his record from that past year.
Babe Ruth brought hope to the people during the depression when it was needed the
most. During the depression one of the only things that surprisingly survived the great depression
was Baseball. Baseball was able to survive the great depression because of the fans who went to
the games and supported with their money. When people heard of this amazing player named
Babe Ruth who was an amazing baseball player it brought them out to see him. This game of
baseball helped the people go away for a few hours to get away from their lives and forget that it
was a dark time for them. This allowed more fans to come and get away from their lives which
made families come and the audience began to grow rapidly. Baseball was needing players to
play the game which led to men becoming wealthy and this was appeasing especially during the
dark time with the economy. Baseball players Like Babe were becoming more talented with the
rapid attendance of the games and rosters grew bigger for the game itself. Baseball games were
soon becoming more popular than they major league had to which the time that games were
played to the night. This allowed more people who wouldn't get to go because of work now get

Baseball grew in attendance rapidly and continues to this day because it was able to be played at
Babe Ruth impacted the game of baseball, raised the economy, helped change the
depression. Babe changed the atmosphere of the whole game itself. When you think about
baseball when you were a kid most likely Babe Ruth popped into your head. Anyone who plays
baseball or doesn't play knows who Babe Ruth was as an important person to the game. Babe has
a huge impact on the game itself and the whole culture of baseball. This grew the attendance of
baseball itself.
