Lesson Two- Day Two

Daily topic: Thunderstorms- ELA

Objectives: Students should be able to explain different aspects of a thunderstorm.

Procedures:

1) Teacher will make a chart, students will tell what they know about the thunder, what
they want and need to know about thunder, and after the lesson the students will tell me
what they learned about thunder.

2) Teacher will explain aspects of thunder and what the students need to know by using
a powerpoint.

3) ACTIVITY: Students will be work on a webquest where they have to find the
answers to questions by using online resources.

Materials: computers or laptops for each student to use in class.

How to accommodate with students with:

Special needs: help students with concepts that they may have trouble with
Non-native: use pictures
Gifted: have assignments for students who finish early

Thunder and Lightning Webquest

Use the websites at the bottom of the page to find answers to the following questions. Write
each answer as a short paragraph. After, the students should write a summary on what they
have learned from this lesson.

1. What is a thunderstorm and how does it occur?

2. Where and when can thunderstorms occur?

3. How are thunderstorms measured and tracked?

4. What kind of damage can thunderstorms create?

5. On a separate page type a 3 paragraph summary of what you have learned from this
lesson.
