Ms. B communicates clear expectations and intervenes when necessary with students that misbehave.

2. Instruction - Instructional Time


Intern has materials, supplies, and equipment ready at the start of the lesson or activity.
Intern gets class started quickly.
Intern uses available time for learning and keeps students on task.
Comments: Ms. B started her lesson in a timely manner. She managed the students and allowed them enough independent
time to create. She provided an engaging learning environment.

3. Instruction - Instructional Planning and Presentation

Intern arranges learning activities to support standards.
Intern appropriately uses a variety of teaching styles.
Comments:
Ms. B taught social skills through a reading lesson. The social skill that she taught was timely and very appropriate
for the diverse group of students that she serves.

Intern ensures that all students have the opportunity to participate.
Comments:
Ms. B walked around the room and provided support for students that needed reminders about the assignment. She
allowed students talk time with each other, about the assignment, while working to help each other.

Intern adjusts lesson based on student responses/ongoing assessment.

Comments: During the lesson, if students had questions about the outcome, Ms. B redirected students and adjusted her
lesson for individuals based on student responses.
6. Evaluation/Assessment - Instructional Feedback
Intern provides feedback on the correctness or incorrectness of in-class work to encourage student growth.
Intern affirms correct oral responses appropriately and moves on.
Intern provides sustaining feedback after an incorrect response by probing, repeating the question, giving a clue,
or allowing more time.
Comments: Ms. B allowed students to present their apple pie at the end of the lesson. She held a class discussion to
evaluate the students learning.
