Student Teaching Spring 2017
n Completed a 16 week teaching program in a 3rd grade classroom at Bernice Young Elementary in
Springdale, AR. Was completely in charge of the classroom for 4 weeks. Completed day-to-day
tasks of the classroom. Used the standards to create and successfully teach multiple lessons.
Worked with students one-on-one and in small groups. Used guided reading groups.

Internship Fall 2016

n Spent 16 hours a week in a first grade classroom at Park Elementary in Columbus, KS. Created
and successfully taught two lessons, one math and one reading. Worked one-on-one and in
small groups with students to reinforce and reteach concepts. (206 hours in the classroom)

Primary and Intermediate Practicum Spring 2016, Fall 2016

n Created and successfully taught reading lesson plans for a small group of 1st graders. Created
and successfully taught reading and writing lesson plans for a small group of 4th graders. Took
Running Records and analyzed the data. Used Where to Start Word Tests to determine reading
levels.

Clinical Experience Fall 2015

n Reading class at Frank Layden Elementary in Frontenac, KS. Observed and assisted the teacher
with teaching their Success For All Reading program. Created and taught two successful reading
lessons. (33 hours in the classroom)

Explorations Experience Fall 2014

n Kindergarten classroom in Galena, KS. Observed how a classroom is run and the day-to-day
activities. Worked with students one-on-one or in small groups playing educational games that
practiced number sense, letters, and their sounds. Created bulletin boards. (33 hours in this
classroom)
