Audience: All grade level teachers, special education teachers, and special
area teachers.
Duration: 60 70 minutes
Location & Time: April 12, 2017 during grade level planning in the faculty
room starting at 9:30 or afterschool in the library at 2:45
Overview:
Learners will learn what a blended classroom looks like and how it is different
from a traditional classroom. Learners will also brainstorm ways to create a
blended learning classroom. Finally, teachers will create a part of a blended
learning lesson using Blendspace and screencasts.
Learning Objectives:
1. Teachers will be able to understand what a blended classroom is and
how to set up blended lessons.
2. Teachers will be able to create and use screencast to deliver
instruction.
3. Teachers will be able to work collaboratively in a group to brainstorm
ways to use screencast and Blendspace in the classroom.

Instruction
Introduction (5 10 minutes)
Prezi on what a Blended Classroom looks like.
Discuss the difference between a traditional and a blended classroom
(view infographic)
Discuss how teachers can use Blendspace and screencast in their
classroom (general ways)
Explain to teachers the Padlet parking lot website
Have teachers get into groups that have been assigned based on their
technology survey emailed one week before the training.
In groups, teachers will discuss how they could create a blended lesson
(grade level specific ways).
Teachers share ways they can create a blended lesson.
Explain to teachers they are going to create a Blendspace on a specific
standard and then create a screencast to go with the lesson.
Closing (5 10 minutes)
Review how Blendspace and screencast can support a blended
classroom
Review the learning objectives
Request feedback by directing participants to complete the evaluation
survey
Assessment:
Participants will complete a workshop survey to evaluate whether the
training objectives were met. The facilitator will use informal observations
and the survey results to provide additional support during implementation.
