Haters are people who are against you.

They discourage your dreams, disrupt your progress, and

detour you from God's best. They also like to throw shade. According to the handy dandy Urban
Dictionary, throwing shade is defined as acting in a casual or disrespectful manner towards
someone.

Dont view shade as a negative; sometimes you have to wear it as a badge of honor. People only
throw shade on things that are hot. You see, the hotter, better, faster, and greater you become, the
more shade is gonna get thrown.

God teaches us that the real Hater is Satan. He uses other people to discourage, disrupt, and detour
you. Here's a secret to the enemy: He leaves you alone in proportion to how you are doing. The
worse we are, the more he ignores us. He has to turn his attention to those who are succeeding and
doing well. The better you are doing, the harsher the enemy's tactics will become. Now our guy
Bartimaeus isn't really achieving much, so it doesn't seem like the devil is really in his business.
But the crowd around him are the ones throwing shade.

Satan doesn't want people to see Jesus for who he really is. As Bartimaeus began to cry out for
help, Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, Son of David,
have mercy on me! When the haters started throwing shade, Bartimaeus began to yell and
turn up the heat. He wasn't worried about what the crowd thought, because he had enough faith to
see his healing on the other side.

If you want to see and live what God has for you, sometimes you have to turn your back to the
crowd. If you are always living your life through the thoughts and expectations of others, you will
constantly find yourself in situations where you have no control over the win. The Lord wants you
to stand up and shout in the midst of your haters, but you've got to turn your back to them, quit
listening, and not get discouraged, disrupted or detoured by the crowd. The crowd will never go
awaythe enemy will always throw shade your waybut that's a game you cannot play. You
have to ignore it, be the conductor and play your music.

Bartimaeus couldn't see, but he could hear, he could talk, and he could get up on his feet. When
something is going wrong in our lives, our tendency is to focus on those things rather than the
things that are working. If Bartimaeus had stayed focused on his blindness, he would just keep on
begging and his miracle would have passed him by. But he began to use his voice, and when the
haters shouted him down, he turned his voice up and started shouting.
Jesus always welcomed those who jumped the rope-linethose who took fate in their own hands,
who stood up and shouted when everyone said to be quiet. There have been many people who
needed a miracle from Jesus who had to jump the rope-line. But they found the one thing that
could lead to their miracle and that's what they focused on. For Bartimaeus, it was standing up and
screaming for the attention he needed.

You may not have everything that other people have, but you can have faith. Bartimaeus' faith was
manifest in his voice and his movement. He dropped his cup, stood up and, with the little bit of
faith he had, he screamed.

Faith may at times seem difficult to grasp, but at its simplest, faith is seeing Jesus for who he is
and keeping your eyes on him. If you get caught up in what people think, then that will be a rope-
line between you and your breakthrough. Dont let your age, your past, your circumstances, or
your image define you.

You are defined by what God says about you, and you need look no further than Jesus to find out
what that is. Jesus says that you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. But if
you can see Jesus for who he is, you'll see you for who you really are. God wants to move you
from begging with a cup to abundant living. God wants to move you from where you are to where
you want to be. The key that unlocks this is faith is seeing Jesus for who he really is. If you can
stand up and scream, then you are on your way to the blessing that you need. If you believe
enough about Jesus to jump the rope-line, Jesus believes enough about you to give you your
breakthrough.
