Unit Summary:

In this unit you will learn the fundamentals/rules/strategies of badminton and be able to apply them in gamelike settings. The unit will begin with some background history
on badminton as well as some key vocabulary words that will be continually reinforced throught the unit to insure students comprehension. Safety and rules will also be a
key topic covered before we launch into active play. Once we have a grip on these prerequesites we will begin applying them. Students will learn how to serve underhand,
how to return serves/shots, and how to use a variety of shot techniques. Once students are able to prove comprehension of these skills through active demonstration then
we will move on to more advanced game like settings. At the end of the unit students will be able to play a full game of badminton once they have proved subject
competency. Badminton is a fun game that is appropriate for all ages, friends and family.
