Dear Hiring Manager:
I am writing to you to apply for the Ticket Manager Internship for this coming Australian Baseball
League season. I have studied both Business Administration and Communication through my
degree in Sport Management while at Washington State University and on exchange at IE
University in Segovia, Spain. I will earn my Bachelors degree this May.
My studies have given me the opportunity to work in the marketing, event management, and
recreation fields at WSU, doing so within both group and individual settings. I have over 180 hours
of hands-on experience working various sporting events through these fields. My marketing
practicum position gave me experience in developing and carrying out marketing strategies on
a large scale, as well as extensive patron interaction. I have also worked with event management
in implementing their operations strategies for football games. Within University Recreation, I
communicated directly with patrons and had oversight of the advancement of intramural games.
I am proficient in written and oral communication as well as with Microsoft Office programs such
as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. I am also proficient with social media platforms (Twitter,
Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) and their use. Through past work, I have experience with
photoshop (Adobe Photoshop) and video editing (Windows Movie Maker & Apple iMovie). I have
extensive customer service experience as well.
In 2016, I spent Spring semester abroad at IEU in Segovia, Spain. During my time abroad, I
played for the IE University basketball team and learned about global sport organization
operations and adapted to a different culture. I viewed travel, scheduling, and organizational
processes within team operations, all while playing a leadership role on the team. While abroad, I
developed a keen affinity for travel and experiencing new cultures and places. Over this six-month
span, my Spanish communication ability developed remarkably throughout my adaption process.
These experiences have furthered my knowledge and understanding of sport, international sport,
business, event management, communication, and marketing.
