Classroom Management Policy

It is my goal to create a safe learning community within the classroom where your child
can learn to their fullest extent. To do this I place important rules and policies to keep all students
accountable for their actions with their own work and with other students.

Conduct
Students enrolled in choir are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at
all times on and off campus. This includes all school function events, performances, and field
trips. Students are expected to treat other students and teachers with respect, and they will be
treated with respect in return. This choir program is built to be a family and operates on this
mutual respect.
Rules:
Be respectful to others and to classroom equipment
Be on time. (On time means in your assigned spot with all of your materials.)
Be Honest
Clean up after yourself. Leave the choir room cleaner than you found it.
Treat others as you wish to be treated.
Do not use classroom equipment without asking permission.
Only choir students are allowed in the choir room.
No Horse Play (Ex. Running, jumping, pushing, unwanted physical conduct)
Rehearsal Expectations:
Bring all required materials to every rehearsal every day. (Music, a binder, a pencil)
Raise your hand to ask questions.
Enter the room calmly and place your belongings in the assigned area.
Other classroom work is to be done outside of rehearsal time.
Keep personal commentary to yourself, if you would like you may share comments with
me after class.
Rewards:
Each choir will be evaluated as a group to decide if they are following expectations. Each
day that the choir class as a whole behaves well and works hard, the group will be given a point.
After a certain amount of points the class will be rewarded with an event of their choosing during
class. Examples include: Pizza party, movie day, talent show, going outside, etc..
Consequences
Students are expected to follow all school and choir classroom rules at all times. If a student
chooses to break one or more of these procedures, one or more of the following
consequences will occur depending on the severity.
Verbal Warning
Student/Teacher conference
Phone call to legal guardians
Parent / Teacher conference
Detention / ISS
Referral
Removal from the Choir Program

Behaviors that will result in immediate dismissal from the choir program:
Consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs during choir functions
Arrival to a choir function under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs
Intentional damage to choir property
Intentional damage to another persons belongings
Failure to follow procedures or instructions explicitly given out by a director, staff
member or instructor (ex.: wandering from the group, boys and girls being in each others
rooms on overnight trips)
Possession or use of any weapon during a choir function
Other actions that qualify for being expelled from school (ex.: fighting)
Agreement
By signing this page, both guardians and students agree to abide by the guidelines stated
