REFLECTION/APPLICATION

10. As a result of the inquiry process, what was the overall impact on your instructional practices and student achievement? (List specific evidence. Please answer
your Inquiry Question-Cell #2)
The overall result was a raise in student confidence in themselves throughout the lesson. They were able to explore and collaborate with their partners at the
beginning of each lesson, then learn through guided instruction from me, then be tested and pass each day. My students often told me how easy this section was
compared to others.
11. Describe what you learned from the Inquiry about student development, instructional practice, academic content, and/or yourself as a teacher.

REFLECT
I learned the more avenues I take to teach the same content pays off. I think retention is higher once my students have to struggle with it on their own, then with a partner
before being taught how to solve. My students got to see a problem three or four different ways before they were tested. They really enjoyed getting the On Your Own question
correct at the end of the lesson.
12. Describe how you will apply new learning to future teaching practice.
The differentiated graphic organizers worked really well with my students. I will continue to do that through out each unit and I will also plan to add more writing
opportunities where my student have to compare and contrast different concepts more often.
13. Look back at Cell #5. Please explain (using evidence) your results and why you did or did not achieve the predicted results.
I had to stamp my students work at the end of each lesson if they got the last On Your Own question correct. All of my students received a star stamp before leaving.
