Teresa Guill
Classroom Management and Student Engagement
Teresa was nothing short of amazing. The idea to use popular songs that kids
know to get them involved was creative. We all know that we can remember
song lyrics because theyre catchy but when it comes to taking a test we
sometimes go blank. I feel like Teresa taught us that we could use catchy
songs to help students learn.

Ryan Henderson, Barter Theater
Kinesthetic Learning Activities
Ryan was my favorite by far. The other people who came to do seminars
were great but I felt like we did more than just learn. We all got to connect
and learn more about ourselves and the way that we react to situations.

Carole Greer, Former reading specialist for VA Department of Education
Best Practices in Vocabulary Instruction
Carole Greer was excellent with reading. In fact, when she told us that she
would read a book several times to practice I too began using that tip.
Instead of reading it once I now read a book several times to get better
acquainted before reading it to others.

Dr. Hawk Writing Workshop
Dr. Hawk covered narrative writing and how to get students to use transition
words. Using a book that talked about snowmen fighting was her suggestion.
Then she had a narrative graphic organizer that was perfect for helping
students put their ideas together.

1st Grade Vocabulary meeting
I learned about how we would be incorporating one vocabulary word a day
into the students schedules. There were different graphic organizers that
could be used to in order to teach the students the definition of the word.
Some organizers had the definition and a written example while others
required illustrations.
