Introduction

MOTOTRBOprovidestheabilityforaradiouserindistresstosendaconfirmedemergencyalarmmessage,andemergencyvoicetoauserona
supervisoryradio.TheemergencyalarmmessagecontainstheindividualradioIDoftheinitiator.Uponreceptionofanemergencyalarm,the
supervisorreceivesaudibleandvisualindicationsoftheemergencyandtheinitiatingradioIDaredisplayed.Dependingonconfiguration,emergency
voicemayfollowbetweentheinitiatorandthesupervisor.Oncethesupervisorhandlestheemergencysituation(i.e.solvestheproblem),heclears
theemergencyonthesupervisorradio.Oncetheinitiatorclearshisemergencyontheinitiatorradio,theemergencyisconsideredover.

ToconfigureEmergencyModeoption,itsnecessarytomakesomechangesinconfigurationsofcontrolstationandsubscriberradiosradiosusing
theMOTORBOCPSapplication.

Toconfiguresubscriberradio,usetheparagraph1.1or1.2dependingonsystemconfiguration.

InconfigurationsofsubscriberradiointheButtonstabintheRadioButtonsfieldspecifythebuttonwhichwillturnEmergencyAlarmonandturn
EmergencyAlarmoff.

EachmobileradiocanprogramtheEmergencyAlarmtoanyoftheprogrammablebuttons,whereasfortheportableradiotheEmergencyAlarmcan
onlybeprogrammedtotheorangebutton.Pressingtheemergencybuttoncausestheradiotoenteremergencymode,andbeginitsemergency
process.

WhenauserpressestheEmergencybutton,theradiogivesaudibleandvisualindicationstoshowthatithasenteredemergencymode.

RegularTheradiotransmitsanalarmsignalandprovidesaudioandvisualindicationthatitisinEmergencymode.

SilentTheradiotransmitsanalarmsignalbutgivesnoaudioorvisualindicationthatitisinEmergencymode.Inaddition,itwillnotunmutetoany
receivedaudio.

Silentw/VoiceTheradiotransmitsanalarmsignalbutgivesnoaudioorvisualindicationthatitisinEmergencymode.Theradiothenunmutesto
qualifiedchannelactivity

3.Definebehavioroftheradiowhentheradioemergencybuttonispressed:

EmergencyAlarmTheradiosendsanemergencyalarmandexitstheemergencymode.Thisalarmisanonvoicesignalthattriggersanalert
indicationonanotherradio.

EmergencyAlarmw/CallAnemergencyalarmissent,afterwhichanemergencycallcanbetransmittedbypressingthePushToTalk(PTT)
button.

EmergencyAlarmw/VoicetoFollowAnemergencyalarmissentandthemicrophoneisactivatedforanemergencycall.Voiceistransmitted
withouttheneedtopressthePTTbutton.

4.Choosethechannelusedfordigitalemergencyalarmorvoice.AnysinglesitedigitalchannelmaybesetastheRevertChannel,includingthe
channelindicatedbytheradiochannelselector.

5.IntheChannelstabselectcheckboxesEmergencyAlarmIndicationandEmergencyCallIndicationforeachchannelonwhichthesubscriber
radioshouldhavepossibilitytouseEmergencyMode.SpecifytheEmergencySystemwhichisusedonthischannel.

EmergencyAlarmIndicationDeterminesifaudioandvisualindicationisgivenbytheradiowhenanemergencyalarmisreceived.Ifthecheckboxis
unchecked,theradiodisplaysnothingwhenitreceivesanemergencyalarm.

EmergencyAlarmAckDeterminesiftheradioisallowedtoacknowledgeanemergencyalarm.Itisrecommendedthatonlyasingleradioonthe
groupbeprogrammedtoacknowledgeemergencyalarms.Thischeckboxshouldtypicallyonlybecheckedonthedispatchersradio.

EmergencyCallIndicationDeterminesifavisualindicationisgivenbytheradiowhenanemergencycallisreceived.

EmergencySystemdeterminestheEmergencySystem,whichisprogrammedintheDigitalEmergencytab.

ContactNameAtleastonechannelmusthaveaGroupCallasitsContactName.
