PRECAST REINFORCED CONCRETE PILE

PAYLENGTH

Unless otherwise described, pile shall be deemed to be

cast in ordinary portland cement. Price for supply of pile
shall include for casting off site and all necessary
formwork including forming of chamfered corners,
reinforcements, lifting toggles, pile shoes, extension
cap and base plates, mortices for and including
centering bar.

Reinforcement in pile shall include for all necessary

spacer fork.

(i)
The paylength for supply of piles be measured in
linear metre, commencing from cut-off level to toe
of pile when the driven to set. The cut-off level
shall be 75mm above the base of the capping
beam

(ii)
Driving of piles shall be measured and paid for by
linear metre, measured nett from toe of pile when
pitched to the commencing level i.e. toe of pile
when driven. Fractions of a metre will be
measured to the nearest metre. Mark each pile
with its length in linear metre at 1.00m intervals
for each whole length.

(iii) No diesel drop hammer driving equipment is

permissable in the contract and henceforth, the
rate of driving shall be deemed to include
hydraulic driving equipment.

(iv) The Contractor is to aware of the above condition

and allow all costs thereto in adherence to the
requirement.

It is the obligation of the Contractor before

commencement and after the completion of the piling
works, but before casting of pile caps to engage a
Licensed Surveyor to set out the correct alignment and
eccentricity of each pile strictly in accordance with the
Engineer's layout drawings or any other drawings
subsequently issued by the S.O. during the progress of
the piling works. In the event that deviation from the
correct alignment does occur and eccentricity of any
such pile does not conform to that shown in the said
drawings, the rectification of such pile will have to be
carried out by the Contractor at his own cost to the
entire satisfaction of the S.O.. If any one pile is
damaged and it has to be replaced by one or more
piles, the Contractors will only be paid for ONE
replacement pile and the Contractor shall bear all other
additional costs including the extra costs of enlarging
the capping beam etc. ITEM - - 1,000.00

B Allow for submission of records of all piles in triplicate

duly signed by the Contractor, Site Supervisor and
S.O.'s representative and delivered to the S.O. as the
work proceed. ITEM - - 1,000.00

C
Allow for the provision of all necessary hydraulic
operated piling equipments, plants, tools and ancillary
equipments and for their transportation to site,
handling, assembling, erecting, dismantling and
removal on completion. ITEM - - 5,000.00

Allow for moving and handling hydraulic operated piling

equipments, plants, tools and ancillary equipments
about the site as often and whenever necessary for the
proper execution and completion of the whole piling
operation including any excavation and filling required
for moving the plants, tools and ancillary equipment
from differing level of the site, erection of any staging
required and dismantling and removal on completion. ITEM - - 3,000.00
