Immigration for the wrong reason -corrected-

With the recent election of our forty-fifth president of the United States, many major

issues have arisen beyond the comfort of the freedom barrier. Immigration and unauthorized

foreigners have been problematic for the United States since eleven September 2001. Mr. Martin

author of Election of Donald Trump and migration has constructed a scholarly article

describing the action Honorable President Donald Trump has completed to control the amount of

immigration that takes place in the United States. This specific article was written with the intent

of every American citizen to be informed about what action President Trump is taking against the

subject of immigration laws in the United States (Martin 161). According to Mr. Martin, the

United States is being bombarded by unauthorized foreigner; however, robust laws need to be

emplaced in order to control the immigration population in major cities around the United States.

Illegal Immigration Threatens U.S. Security by Kirk A. Johnson gives a wonderful article

describing the negative effects immigration has on national security. Immigrant Detention by

Reed Karaim, has written a scholarly article describing immigration in the United States as a

whole. Karamin describes the events and number of immigrants in federal prisons due to a

criminal act. Among reading a paragraph, he describes the difference in government polices

ranging from very restrictive, to welcoming immigrants with health care and life entails free of

charge(Karaim 889). However, Karamin also states that gaining entrance into the United States is

a temporarily achievement according to the individuals that do so, but could lead to physical and

mental discomfort if accused of being an illegal and sent back by deportation to which can take

months and even years to be processed in court.

This scholarly article written by Mr. Martin talks about President Trump addressing the

immigration problems we have currently in the United States, and the effort to enforce new laws.

The article portrays the message of the amount of unauthorized people living in the United States

that are not accounted for, but are still taking advantage of our military supplied freedom (Martin

161). As the reader, I agree with the message of providing the United States with heavier laws

and procedures to control the immigration population, however still allowing the freedom for

others to visit and live the American dream (Martin 161). Donald Trump informs the United

States including the author of this article with direct statements and facts proven by statistics

given throughout the paper. While providing evidence to prove the statements are correct, is also

gives the reader confidence that everything stated in the article is accurate, and by enforcing new

laws that protect the people will work. Logos seems to be the form of writing Mr. Martin is

trying to follow, by providing an argument based on facts, evidence and reason (Martin 161). Mr.

Martin has included the number of unauthorized foreigners for the past ten years that have been

recorded for criminal actions, many paragraphs are written with extreme detail including dates

and location that negatively talks about immigration that takes place in the United States (Martin

161). However, through the article Mr. Martin talks about the control of immigration under the

ruling of the forty-forth president, Barak H. Obama, and how out of control this topic became.

This scholarly article titled Immigrant Detention by Reed Karaim, is written for the

intended audience of the general public to better understand the system and conditions immigrant

are faced with if caught in the United States illegally. According to research done by Mr. Karaim,

he states that over 425,000 undocumented immigrants are held in over 250 federal prisons

around the United States for criminal activity (Karaim 889). A statement made my Mr. Karamin,

talks about developing stronger laws on immigrant detention will cause fear in the peoples eyes

and reduce the number of undocumented people crossing the borders every year. As the reader,

do not believe this will solve the problem; many immigrants are here for work to support

families back across the water (Karaim 889). This article written uses the rhetoric form of pathos,

by describing the conditions and physical discomfort used to handle the immigrants that are

caught by police. Mr. Karaim has stated that most immigrants detained in federal prisons are held

behind bars for months and years until a court date is arranged, causing mental discomfort due to

the long period of time away from distant family members (Karaim 889). This article, in addition

to the previous article by Mr. Martin, both include very detailed dates and locations to fully

understand the information given. Exact percentages are listed, allowing for everyone good

comprehension and reasoning. As the reader, an organized structure is found throughout the

article, starting with a detailed introduction of what the entire paper is based from. According to

the thesis statement at the beginning, every page includes a form of pathos in the emotional field

of writing.

With the growing concern of immigration in the United States only time and proper

leadership will be able to help the major problem since September 11th, 2001. The article written

by Mr. Karaim titled Immigrant Detention gives its audience a clear understanding of the

culture and laws we have in place for dealing with illegal immigration. According to Mr. Karaim,

the United States does not have a good system of deporting illegal immigrant quickly out of this

country. As the reader, understanding that many people are stuck in federal prison for month and

years before being sent back to family and work. As the reader, Mr. Karaims article was the

most effective in fulfilling his personal belief on the topic of immigration detention. Using

pathos is an extremely good way of persuading someone to believe in the same topic as you. He

describes the mental and physical discomfort immigrants are gone through if caught on

American soil illegally. Mr. Karaim appeals to his audience the best, which is the general

American population, taking about the disconnection of family members for years at a time. The

scholarly article written my Mr. Martin titled Election of Donald Trump and migration tells the

truth about the culture in America against the immigration population. He says that the United

States welcomes immigrants to travel into the county, however strong laws need to be enforced

to control the amount of undocumented people crossing the borders without the clearance.

However, as the reader, both articles prove a good point when it comes to immigration in the

United States, laws need be too enforced to control the overwhelming population of unauthorized

people.
