St. Josephs Foundation Receives Surprise Donation From

Housing Services Corporation

On Wednesday April 12, 2017, Bill Bradica discharged one of his first duties as the new Board Chair of
the Housing Services Corporation (HSC): presenting a cheque for $1,850 to St. Josephs Foundation in
Thunder Bay on behalf of HSC employees in Toronto.

Bradica, who is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Thunder Bay District Social Services Board
(TBDSSAB), started as Board Chair of HSC on April 1. I was thrilled to learn that HSC staff had chosen
to fundraise for an organization in our District, Bradica said. It speaks to their commitment to
communities across all of Ontario.

HSC employees selected St. Josephs Foundation by vote in November and held a series of in-office
fundraising events in the following months. Employees raised a total of $925. HSC business partner
FirstOnSite Restoration agreed to match the amount raised by employees.

For HSC staff, it was important to select an organization that was also involved in housing and focused
on social outcomes, particularly for vulnerable people, said HSC CEO Howie Wong.

St. Joseph's Foundation was pleasantly surprised when HSC contacted us, said Katrina ONeill,
Executive Director of St. Josephs Foundation. Were thankful to HSC staff in Toronto, who worked
together to raise money in support of St. Joseph's Care Group here in Thunder Bay. Were also thankful
to FirstOnSite Restoration for their contribution. This gift demonstrates how the energy and enthusiasm of
a small group can greatly impact the life and well-being of so many. The money raised will be used to
purchase essential equipment for our clients supported through social housing programs.

HSC helps social housing landlords across Ontario by offering services that help them control energy
costs; manage fire and safety risks; share best practices in managing and maintaining building portfolios;
and use information technology to improve their operations.
