1 Thoroughly inspect the condition for:
Cleanliness and ventilation, including ingress
of moisture, dust, vermin etc. Damage to the
enclosure or finishes. Security of access doors
and condition of any gaskets on access doors
or panels.

Busbars: Check for visible signs of
overheating, loose connections etc.Check
integrity of busbar connections & tap-off
connections including cabling. Test insulation
resistance with approved test equipment.

Fuse Switch/Switch Fuse: a) check switching
mechanism,b) check contact blades,c) check
terminations for tightness,d) check fuse rating

Check all neutral, earth & auxillary connections

General: (a) check for presence of moisture,
(b) remove any build up of dirt or other
contaminants, (c) check that appropriate labels
& warning notices are clean & in place.

Measure & record earth loop impedance and
PSC, compare with previous records.
Investigate reasons for significant change.
Ensure braking capacity of devices is above
measured PSC.
