INVOCATION AND EASTER PROCLAMATION

In the name of the Father, and of the (+) Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

INTRODUCTION

On this day the Lord has acted most powerfully, most lovingly, once and for
all! On the first day of the week God began creation, transforming
darkness into light. On this, the eighth day of the week, Jesus Christ was
raised from the dead. We celebrate this new creation in the waters of
baptism and in the feast of victory. With great joy we celebrate this day of
days, even as we begin the great fifty days of Easter. Filled with hope, we
go forth to share the news that Christ is risen! We rejoice this Easter as
Merryn Ilyse Thomas is joined to the risen Christ through the eternal gift of
Holy Baptism.

CHILDREN are always welcome to our Worship Service. Rainbow bags

and a cry room are available. A staffed nursery is also available if needed.
An usher will gladly provide you with assistance.

As a worship courtesy, we ask that you please turn off or set to vibrate
all cellular telephones and pagers during the worship service.

We ask that all present today please fill out the Attendance and Communion
registration card found in your bulletin and place it in the offering plate so
that we may record your presence with us.

PRAYER UPON ENTERING THE PEW

O God, you are the creator of the world, the liberator of your people, and
the wisdom of the earth. By the resurrection of your Son free us from our
fears, restore us in your image, and ignite us with your light, through Jesus
Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy
Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

him on a tree; 40but God raised him on the third day and allowed him to
appear, 41not to all the people but to us who were chosen by God as
witnesses, and who ate and drank with him after he rose from the
dead. 42He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is
the one ordained by God as judge of the living and the dead. 43All the
prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives
