Objectives: In this class you will discover a wide spectrum of international cinema and
the movements that sparked future filmmakers. You will be able to understand a broad
range of global cultures that create cinema from their own distinct perspectives.
Additionally you will build a lexicon of knowledge of the movements and artistry of
international cinema.
Assignments: Four quizzes will be given during the semester. The questions will be
taken from lectures and readings and films. Dates are in the syllabus.
Outside Class Requirement: You must purchase a season pass for the three theatre
productions during the fall semester and one TFM film festival. Proof of purchase must
be emailed to the GA and must be purchased by September 22, 2015. If you purchase
the season pass we will receive a list so no other proof is needed. The three film

Tuesday December 13th 4-6pm Quiz#4 on Middle East and African Cinema
EXTRA CREDIT: Register to vote up and earn twenty-five points on any single giving
item in the syllabus. Please send an email with proof of voter registration from the
county registrar of your specific county. Send it to the GA. If you cannot register to vote
you may volunteer for one hour with any on campus student group that is of a political
nature and have them send an email to the GA. Also additional extra credit will be
provided throughout the semester.
Improper Behavior: All cheating will be reported to the dean of student affairs.
Violence or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. If you are removed from the
classroom, the incident will be reported and I reserve the right to drop you from the
course.
Technology in Class: Please set electronic devices on silent before each film begins.
During lectures you may connect, use all devices you may need.
