1. Course description:
Basic One is an introductory course of English. It addresses situations related to introductions,
asking about peoples favorites, asking where people are from, describing cities and hometowns,
and asking about personal items.

The course represents the first 27 hours of in-class instruction and the topics are:

Welcome Unit:
This unit includes classroom expressions. Additionally, you will find sections for the alphabet,
numbers, greetings, and classroom vocabulary.
Unit 1: Introductions
This unit will teach you about introductions to other people.
Unit 2: Countries
This unit will teach you about countries, nationalities, hometowns and descriptions of cities.
Unit 3: Possessions
This unit will teach you about personal items and their descriptions.

2. General Course Goals:


By the end of the course, you will be able to:

1. Engage in conversations related to introductions and personal exchange of information.


2. Describe places and identify peoples nationalities.
3. Identify and describe personal items.

5. Evaluation Criteria:
The evaluation system is based on four components as follows:

D. Effort grade 2 points 10%
TOTAL 20 points 100%

The minimum passing grade for the level is 14 points.
