Abstract:
Subject
Standard active noise cancelling (ANC) headphones often perform well in
reducing the lowfrequency noise and isolating the highfrequency noise by Re: A LowPower BroadBandwidth Noise Cancellation VLSI Circuit Design for InEar H
earmuffs passively. The existing ANC systems typically use highspeed digital

signal processors to cancel out disturbing noise, which results in high power
consumptionforaindustrialANCheadphone.Thecontributionofthispapercan
be classified into: 1) correct filter length choice a pair of) lowpower storage
mechanism for convolution operation and 3) highthroughput pipelining architecture. With these novel techniques, we develop an
area/powereconomical ANC circuit by using the TSMC 90nm CMOS technology for inear headphone applications. The proposed
feedforward filteredx least mean square ANC circuit style provides the features of using lower operating frequency and consuming
abundantlesspowerthatfacilitatebetterperformancethanthestandardANCheadphones.Toverifytheeffectivenessoftheproposed
design, a series of physical measurements is executed in an anechoic chamber. Measurement results show that the proposed high
performance/lowpower circuit style can scale back disturbing noise of various frequency bands very well, and outperforms the
prevailingworks.TheproposeddesigncanattenuatefifteendBforbroadbandpinknoisebetween50and150zeroHzwhenoperated
