Reiki practice is balancing, and not itself dangerous in any way.

Reiki practitioners, however, are human. When humans dont know how to
hold our balance, we can be in danger anywhere. Even in the otherwise safe
space of Reiki treatment or Reiki initiation.
After all, we dont just bring our Reiki hands when we offer treatment or
initiation, we bring the rest of us too. All too often, Reiki practitioners dont
know what to do with the rest of ourselves.
I was lucky.
When I learned to practice Reiki in 1986, I had been a student of meditation
and yoga for nearly 25 years. Although it was apparent to me that Reiki is a
unique practice, my prior spiritual practice gave me a strong foundation that
has made an enormous difference in my Reiki practice.
For example, meditation taught me to observe without becoming involved in
what I was observing. This enabled me to maintain steadiness and hold my
personal boundaries while offering treatment to people in even the most
extreme situations, and to those with whom my life is most intertwined.
Reiki lifestyle is one of balance and empowerment empowering you to
live a healthy, happy life.
People spend a lot of money trying to help themselves, but choose products
that are poor quality. You might be one of those people.

Does What I Eat Affect The Flow of Reiki?

This is a question that will be asked occasionally when I have a Reiki student
preparing for her training, Should I stop eating any foods or drinking coffee
before my Reiki class? Coffee is usually the big question.
The answer is not black or white and really depends on who you ask. I have
met people who practice Reiki who do not sense a difference of the Reiki
flow whether they refrain from certain foods and coffee.
There are others who have to completely change their diets all together, not
just when they are giving or teaching Reiki. When this group of people start
working with energy such as a high vibrational frequency that is Reiki, they
find their body becomes more sensitive to everything they encounter,
especially what they eat and what surrounds them.
Please make note that this post is from my intuitive side and not intended to
be considered scientific proof of diet and Reiki flow. I do enjoy connecting
the dots for you though!
When you break down the idea of why sensitivity to food would occur once
someone becomes an energy worker, consider how everything, and
everyone, is energy. Everything vibrates even if it cannot be seen by the
naked eye.
Concerning matter, we have been all wrong. What we have called matter is
energy, whose vibration has been so lowered as to be perceptible to the
senses. There is no matter.
Albert Einstein
This includes the food we put in our bodies. And to break it down even
further, some foods vibrate faster than others, full of life force energy, that
will provide us with this living source of nutrition. There are foods that
vibrate slowly and are work to digest. Foods that vibrate slowly may contain
less life force energy to give us, resulting in more work than benefit.
Foods that contain active, vibrant life force energy include vegetables, fruit,
seeds, and what would grow from the ground, fresh and still holding that
energy from the earth that it absorbed as a plant.
Foods that are processed like sugar, not from the earth, filled with chemicals
and other non-foods would be more work to digest and not provide the body
with life force energy (if there was any in it, the body would be using it for
digestion). I have heard, and personally experienced, that even protein and
energetic residue from animal meat is difficult to digest once a person
begins their path as an energy worker. The emotional energy of the animal
is said to still remain and anything physical it may have encountered could
easily be absorbed by the person now consciously working with energy. This
can cause great discomfort during the digestion process and even cause
illness and inflammation.
Now, what exactly does this have to do with the flow of Reiki energy? If your
body is eating foods that are grown in soil and still carry life force energy,
we would be feeding our bodies with nutrition and giving it fuel. The body
would vibrate higher and be given what it requires to function optimally. The
healthier the body, the more the flow of Reiki would channel through rather
than stay to help the giver first.
If the body is given processed foods with chemicals and sugar, and non-
food ingredients to keep it from spoiling, the body will work harder to digest
this fuel and not necessarily vibrate as healthfully or optimally. It would be
spending energy rather than receiving it in this scenario. Working harder to
digest and being equipped with less life force energy and nutrition from
food, the body might perhaps be in a less optimal condition, slowing down
the flow of Reiki being channeled.
Usui Sensei, the founder of Reiki, incorporated dietary cleansing, fasts, and
meditation as part of his Reiki practice. The idea around this philosophy is
that ones intuition becomes stronger the healthier she eats and how often
she meditates. So, if one is interested in truly following the Reiki path as
Usui had intended, she would consider what she eats.
With all of that being said, and my explanation that this is not a scientifically
proven article, once you start working with Reiki, you will become more in
tune with your body and how it communicates with you. This is a great
opportunity to establish this sacred connection with your own dietary needs
and habits if you allow yourself to listen and follow its advice. Before and
after each meal, you can take notice of how you feel, your energy level, your
alertness, and your overall physical sensations. So, rather than me telling
you what you should or shouldnt eat, give this post some food for thought
and start paying attention to your own intuition. Good luck and Reiki 0n!
