Turbochargers can spin at speeds of well over 100,000 rpm. The tiniest imbalance can cause
vibration, leading to noisy operation, oiling issues and ultimately bearing failure. Just like the
wheels on a car, the wheels on a turbocharger have to be balanced to ensure optimal performance.
There are two ways on how a turbocharger can be balanced: Heins or "Component" balancing
and VSR or "Assembly" balancing. While many turbocharger manufacturers choose one or
the other method, at Turbonetics we believe that the perfect turbocharger has to be perfectly
balanced. And this can only be achieved by using both methods - on every turbocharger possible.
