Describe how you would use the Online Project/Collaboration Site/Publishing
Opportunity in your classroom: Students will use the online project to help them
investigate the habitats of Hummingbirds. Students will use the website to track
the migration of the hummingbirds.
What technologies would be required to implement this proposed learning activity
in a classroom? Computers, binoculars, tablets, bird feeders
Describe how the following features are addressed in this learning experience
(note: all of them may not be addressed in the project, but most should be if you

a. Collaboration with peers, near-peers, mentors outside their classroom
and often beyond their school: Students will use the website to report
sightings of hummingbirds and to investigate other sightings made by
peers across the country
b. Student-centered learning and knowledge creation (collecting original
data and or producing original products as a result of engaging in the
project): Students will use the website to report their sightings of
humming birds
c. Higher-order thinking: Students will make predictions on why
hummingbirds migrate to and from their habitats.
d. Students publishing their original work to others who will use/care
about their product: Students will publish their investigations of their
sightings. Students will publish their sightings of the hummingbird
