MRS. EQUIHUAS 3RD GRADE CLASS
Thank you for coming to our Open House!
We are here tonight to celebrate your childs
accomplishments this school year. Its time
to acknowledge the dedication and hard work
that students have put into being academic
scholars. Please have your child guide you
around our classroom to view their
outstanding work.
Some of the topics that students have been
working on include:
Language arts: Reading comprehension,
reading fluency
Writing: Write from the Beginning and
Beyond reading program, grammar,
sentence structure
Math: place value, multiplication and
division, fractions
Science: Ecosystems, Earth science,
Weather
Social Studies: Native Americans, local
geography, U. S. government

Now its time to let your child show you
around. Check off the items on the list
below as you explore our classroom.
___Writing Wall: Here you will find the
latest published writing samples that show
your childs ability in writing. The most
current piece is a persuasive paragraph, in
which they created their own cereal. Read it
and see if they persuade you to buy their
cereal.
___Math Wall: Here you will find current
math work. As you will see, we are working
on fractions.
___Art: Take a look at this wall and you
will find a colorful art book. They worked
on this project with an art teacher for a
couple months.
___AMAZING Board: This area
monitors students behavior. Once they
spell the word Amazing, they get a play
pass!!! How close is your child to getting a
play pass?

 ___Unit Investigation Board: This is the
area where we explore our current Language
Arts unit. Students discuss and record the
concepts and questions for each unit. Our
current unit is City Wildlife. Take a look
at the many different animals that live near
you!
